<WANG3 is forming and looking for members

This thread marks the founding of the <WANG3 clan in Empires. <WANG3 is an acronym for We Are Not Gay. Despite the homophobic name of the clan we will accept any members who might be LGBT or just heterosexual. All are welcome.

Also I've decided that I will not create a steam group, the organization known as <WANG3 will be decentralized.

 

Will all members be forced to make suggestions in the suggestion forum?

 

I think you should make it mandatory that every member submit one suggestion.

 

Dictating member's actions in a decentralized clan community where we lack an official and centralized steam group would be, by design, extremely hypocritical and unintelligent.

I high have expectations of your group.

 

We are a decentralized clan with the goal of having more fun than the other more centralized clans. With the decentralized approach we hope to have less unnecessarily enforced rules in favor of allowing more intelligent and creative thinking, outside-of-the-box, if you will. You should not expect us to win all the time in scrims, as a matter of fact scrims are too centralized for our decentralized approach. We seek less organized battlefields, and the chaos of pubs is certainly what we're after. That however does not prevent us from playing in PUGs, those are often more chaotic and less organized than pubs because in PUG there are many experienced players all barking orders at one another. In a pub there are a few noobs to follow the orders barked out by the experienced players. In a pub or PUG you could say that <WANG3R5 (pronounced "wangers") are in their elements.

 

You shouldn't, because we aren't a group, that would imply that we are a centralized entity that is brought together with some centralizing purpose. We are an abstract social construct that can't have "expectations" tagged onto it.

 

Exactly, the ideology (fun) that brings us together in a decentralized purpose is very simple and generalized preventing us from becoming centralized around a single purpose.

 

After minimal discussion Grant and I have decided that we would like to both acknowledge a maneuver that we will call RAPE.

Reclaim refers to that at the beginning of every match we call dibs on all the refs, and therefore if the enemy takes a ref we have to reclaim it.

Another refers to that this will always be done more than once in a match.

Potential refers to that this maneuver will not always succeed.

Encampment refers to placing a barracks next to the ref so that we can defend it from being RAPE'd.

I will also personally refer to the northeastern part of emp_slaughtered as 3bend.

 

We've had a new development in the collective, say an idea that through the use of chaos we can plant a firm node in the physical playing field, through which members can pass through without the bureaucracy of a centralized power. That development is "Reclaim Another Potential Encampment", or RAPE for short. Essentially when someone types in chat RAPE <coords> or speaks into mic "I need RAPE at <coords>" then what they mean to communicate is that when taking over an enemy refinery, the commander places a barracks right beside it. In a sense it removes arbitration from barracks placement because it will be right beside the barracks.

 

I'm caving and making a Steam Group and centralizing this clan temporarily. Having a single Clan structure in Empires us unhealthy politically, albeit moreso than a two Clan structure.

 

Careful, grant doesn't show up to scrims and is always 30 minutes late.
