Galactica = Sci-Fi soap opera... Same for the stargate series (movie is good, though) Star Trek the Next Generation = best TV Sci Fi...but it had some real actors to it...and you can watch just one episode, having never watch TNG before, and enjoy it (so long as it is not one of the two part episodes that came at the end and beginning of every season...and even those you can get.) TNG = amazing. TNG > Firefly...and I like Firefly, a lot. DS9 = meh, gets soap opera-ish. Voyager can be good sometimes, generally sucks.
The new Enterprise they aired I dont know why the hell they even tried to mess with the timeline of trek; it just seemed stupid, brining out a war and a race thats never before been mentioned... It got good in season 2 when the writers apperantly got some sense smacked into them, but it was too late...
Voyager = crappiest star trek evar I gotta get/watch Ijon Tichy. A german adaption of some Stanislaw Lem novels, which sounds really neat.
did you ever see the star trek series after "the next generation" ? i only saw adverts, but it looked shoddy as hell. they tried to make it sexy and they seriously fell flat on their faces.
Go watch it for real then. And skip the first season. Maybe skip the second season too - Season 2 has some REALLY good episodes...but all in all, was meh. Seasons 1 & 2 were sucky because Rodenberry was still involved with production.
