Erm, I don't think I've ever noticed them. >_> The front missiles look wicked, but I would stick with the side ones. I can't justify my position, it's just a preferred look.
+1 vote for the side: real world logic: delicate missile components tend not to play well with the shock of cannon fire -> put launcher on shock absorbers away from cannon... how to reload launcher on the frount of the turret? ummm...
make 3 sizes for the "pods" 6, 8, and 12 or something like that we could make it change on howmuch missile slots are covered later on its what i planned to make but devs never came trough with promices on "weapon dependant cannon/ml models"
Yeah, that would be awesome. It would be sweet if you could also remove cannon barrels if they aren't being used. Stuff like that would better communicate what a vehicle is carrying and consequently make combat more strategic and engaging.
if you look a few pages back i already said that i plan to do this stuff but i need to finish the main model first biggest problem is lack of ideas i mean i already had one for the railgun, but i have no clue how i could make HE look different (apart from just painting red stripes on the barrel) so if you got any ideas, feel free to post them
Don't make one for every weapon, makes it a pain in the arse should we ever want to add new weapons, we're already having problems because we'd need new particle effects, I wanted to add more bio weapons.
sorry trickster but are you the one who would have to make the models or do i do it in my spare time if we let ourselves get hold up by just "uh this could be difficult in the future because we would have to add more models" we could already throw up the art part and just focus on coding/scripting
Idk if you understand what I mean. What I'm saying is, don't waste time making specific barrels, MGs and Missile launchers that are specific to each weapon. You limit us too much later on. Just make it so missiles have somewhere to come from, MG too, so that they don't just spawn from the turret, and that's enough. We don't need a rail cannon, HE cannon, ER cannon model. It's just too much.
But it would be cool to have a cannon model and a missile model. (Not for the specific weapons, just general models).
It wouldn't be bad if there was an alternate texture that was striped or something. You could just change the color of the stripes if you ever want a new weapon.
If you only have missiles, wouldn't it look awkward just having a missile rack on the side of the tank? If the tank only has missiles, then would it look ok to have the rack centered?
Meh, it might look weird, but it would be fine. This is a shoestring mod. If the devs were especially overachieving, they could make the NF heavy and med look "good" with missile-only loadouts, but other tanks would be fine looking "ugly".
x2 Std. ML: The most badass looking setup ever. Also just a missile launcher won't look that bad on a Brenodi tank if you look at ED's basic tanks with rockets in Earth 2150. Also sure the NF Medium could get away with just the ML slapped where the cannon should be if there's no cannon with it.
i think each weapon should have its own unique barrel or launcher design. this would make the game more pretty. i think the missile launchers should be on top of the turret.
make model for each TYPE(bio, plasma,HE,STD,rails and so on) of weapon, not every single 1.. thus making mod look nice and gief less work in future.
