I suggest a hovercraft transport vehicle, for both BE and NF.
A quick way to get a squad of troops across a long distance, but with thin armor, low weight (ouch the pushback from explosives!) and light armament.
Because the hovercraft has no force of friction holding it tightly in place as it does to a tank or APC, it cannot decelerate or turn very well. This might make up for it's ability to cross bodies of water, carry passengers, and be fast as hell.
Maybe it can also be immune to mines.
Yes, it is a somewhat unreasonable, and even stupid idea. But maybe the fans and the devs like it.
I think i will draw some concepts for some hovercraft...

Look in the gameplay forums for aircraft handling... C&C controls turns aircrafts into hover tanks

You could probably just do it by making the thrust come from thrusters and giving the contact points low friction.

Bad handling is to be expected on a hovercraft.

I've used a scale model of a hovercraft. They slide around when turning and take a lot of skill to maneuver.

If you played Hover (the one from Win95), it's very similar.

It could use a hook to rescue submerged CVs.

So is this a YAY or a NAY? And do I need to sketch up the hovercraft for both teams?

So an APC that can float. It would be awsome to have something that could cross water, but it might as well just be something you can equip on a tank or jeep rather then a whole new vehicle and model.

    Nuclear fission should work underwater.

amphibious tanks where already suggested at some point (i made a suggestion thread abut it at one time :p)

what about having an engine that turns certain tank chassis into hoover tanks? (make a model of a skirt on the tanks etc etc, i bet it wont be that hard)

this suggestion seems interesting, good luck with it :)

But on some maps there is water, because infantry should only swim to some locations.
With amphibious tanks maybe these maps have to be revised.

Personally I think it would make a good replacement for the jeep.

Fast, but with a different control system so spinning out isn't a problem, and able to traverse water.

    The ultimate fast transport vehicle.

or we have have a research able ferry. Once they get in water, they can't get out. All tanks and infantry and ride on top of it, but if it gets destroyed, the tanks drown.

That's a bit of derailing of my thread, thank you very much.
So is a hovercraft a "yay" or "nay"?
I see that there practicly is no need for them right now, since most maps are easily-traverseable with ground vehicles and infantry.
Would it add anything to the gameplay, or would it be useful?
How big would it be? Could the passengers be able to be able to fire their weapons from the inside, as jeep passengers can do?
Ive sketched some concepts, and can probably put them down into 3d.

Sounds cool, but id prefer some sort of fairly reasonable cost flotation device for the apc instead of a whole new vehicle.

Also, the apc could use a winch to drag stuck vehicles off turrets/walls, get griefers outta the vf, or even drag a cv out of water if need be (maby requiring 2 apcs). Pretty sure someone suggested what ive said before though.
