Make spectators able to see how many vehicle each team has currently. Right now you only see vehicle numbers if you are in any of the 2 teams. So I thought why not have it display current vehicle numbers for each team as spectators? i.e. 08/05 , 8 vehicles on NF / 5 vehicles on BE
sure its more interesting... now they can give away even more secrets to others who may be using alternate methods to communicate. "Rush them now they don't have the cash to field enough defensive tanks."
That's an odd one. Spec already sees the entire map you know, I'm sure info on random ninjas or whatever is more useful.
That, to me sounds like saying thieves can already break in and take off with your car in 18 seconds so why lock your car?
In the case of cars it's less about having your car stolen and more about them stealing the contents, like your radio or a camera or something. Anyways in this case, it's a minor thing because I can't remember the last time I heard "spam tanks to defend" or whatever. People usually try to push out as many tanks as they can anyway you know?
It doesn't sound like a bad idea...unless, you know, people actually start commenting on it (as they usually do in spec). E.g. "NF has so much res, what are they saving it for?" "Wow, BE has like 12 vehicles out, but I'm not seeing any fighting these heavies". Or more likely "hahaha, look how crap you are BE, even with all that res you can't do shit. N00BS NOOOBS!!!"
The point is that, if the enemy can know how much cash reserves their enemy has its almost on par with seeing the entire map level of op.
Now are we talking about people playing, switching to spec, then going back to their team type of ghosting? Because it's the same amount of steps to switch to other team then back again. What ikalx said has more weight then people actively trying to cheat. I forgot how loud spec can be.
You know, I didn't think a simple thing like a vehicle counter for spectator would create critic. And ghosting really isn't a strong point considering how much information you already gain as spectator. We have admins to sort those kind of things. *Inbefore people saying admins are terrible*
Thing is, I can't really ban someone for telling people how much res the other team has. Because then the Empires community will make a game out of it, and then taunt the admins about how they did it when they were offline. It just becomes a game to them, and then it's not long before I'm playing a round and it spoils things a bit for me too. Having said that, this thread alone is enough for people to start doing that. So if it doesn't get implemented, for the two weeks after, people in spec will hop from one team to the other when someone like me comes on, and then be like "hurrdurr, it can be done anyway! Idiot!". Because that's the type of people we have.
Which is why I was saying my point was relatively moot. But I will enjoy sitting in spec and ruining things for people :D
