If Empires were for a week to be displayed on the steam front page(or any major distribution site), how would we present it? And importantly, how would it turn out? or inside in?
It would permanently turn quite a few people off to empires. There are a lot of free games out there. People aren't going to try a free game twice.

Empires would be disfunctional for several weeks until the community would shrink down again to under 100 players. Too many people would boomtank, getting stuck in commander screen or start sniping. And the abuse they would get from the vets...
It'd go a lot better than most of you think. There'd also be servers full of n00bs and when a vet joined and showed leadership a few of the n00bs would learn.
I'd sacrifice study time and my sleep schedule to play as much as possible in an attempt to coach newbs. It'd be glorious if tiring.
You guys should be more like Destroyer and Metruption. nubs dont fuck things up that often, you make it like a forgone conclusion that any new player is going to be a total spanner. The main reason people make mistakes is because they are ignorant and no-one has told them otherwise. There's mostly always an admin on to put it right and even if not - its a game and you've already played every damn map 100 times. its is fine, chill.
