It's quite hard to shoot people and intentionally not kill them. Guns are a somewhat inaccurate and extremely lethal weapon, and the human body is full of vulnerable points. If you shoot someone and don't kill them, you're lucky, not good. Also, being shot with a handgun won't stop you if you're panicking, or angry, or on drugs, or really anything other than perfectly calm. See being shot, while often lethal, is almost never IMMEDIATELY lethal. So if they shot him once, he'd probably just get pissed and start attacking them. Basically, if you're going to shoot people, shoot them with the intent to kill them, because you almost certainly will, and shoot them lots because if you don't they'll probably kill you before they die.
You could explain the first shots as a shock reaction, that hammer guy kinda provoked it, but that fucked up officer shot another 5 times into his back, damn he must be feeling good finally being able to unload all his frustration in some random jerk and completly overkill him in the process ... wth Genuine desecration if there is any...

While you can argue that the officer did not need fire almost a dozen rounds, I see some very naive statements about how they should have "shot him in the leg", everything will end peaceful, and we will all eat cake. The use of lethal force is justify so you don't just fire to simply wound the suspect. The use of a pistol with just one hand, cocked to the side, is also very inaccurate. Aside from the fact that 9mm is not a very lethal caliber. This is excluding the "heat-of-the-moment" reaction and other psychology effects that no human can completely eliminate (even with years of training).
People have been shot more times an survived. People on drugs can get up after being shot multiple times. People don't die instantly from getting shot.
Him. True. In the head? Sure. I think it is just an unrealistic expectations placed on professionally-trained individual when it comes to firearm use. Luckily, respective units and court system realizes this and give people a certain level of discretion (e.g. many self-defense cases). I'm sure a majority of people in similar incidents would have dealt with their situation differently in hindsight. This incident is just an excuse for the cop bashing posted above. Most cops are good.
the dude who posted the video said they thought it was rubber bullets, whether or not that is true idk but it would explain the amount of shots and laughter by them. To me what stands out is how crazy cameras and shit like youtube is. Fucked up shit has happened since before we were born but now you can watch it at work 10 mins after it happens and it becomes so popular so fast. Crazy times
