It's great fun for all of five minutes. The matchmaker really blows, I've consistently found myself in matches getting killed by people at least half a dozen levels above me with shit that they have to have paid for. If you're considering trying it, it's not worth it, even if you're a long time tribes fan.
I play it quite a lot, I've had no issues with the matchmaking system (other than the fact that you can be placed in a game thats about to finish). Seems to me like you've just been unlucky with who you're matched with, I've been in some excellent games with a range of different leveled players.
haven't really played since T2, i played T:V for a bit, only thing i like about that game was the buckler, frisbee-o-death. but the grapple fags ruined it for me. Ill probly pub stomp for a while, see if any old players are still around, and if its really that bad leave.
Started playing today, and in 4 rounds racked up 99 kills total. calling these people noobs would be insulting to real noobs.

That is pretty much true. However, it find it fun, and I have yet to unlock all the classes and upgrade shit. I love this css surf + BF 2142 mixture. :D
I have to agree with varbles, gameplay is very stale, everybody sits at their base (which they fill with turrets) only one person per team seems able to comprehend how to capture the flag. but racking up 28 kills in seven minutes and having juggertwats rage at you is most entertaining.
Yeah its amazing how many noobs there are. No one ever buys vehicles either. The whole upgrade system is really lame, and obviously there to make you buy things. You have to spend 42,000 points to get any choice in weapons, and you might earn 500-1000 every 15 minute round. Like wat? But its fun.

I stopped playing after I noticed that the only three classes people played were infiltrator, technician(aka farm all day errday) and brute. Bella Omega was ruined every since they took out the roof access and they moved the generators into the small room that can be defended solely by 4 technicians and 2 force fields, and then just take the enemy flag into that room once you have a point lead and just wait out for 10 minutes.
On European servers they seem to primarily play technician, juggernaut, sentinel (fucking cunt snipers) and soldier. I rarely bump into infiltrators, but I do see them from time to time. They seem to whore a lot of turrents and force fields though.
