Just finished Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I give it 8/10 10/10 for the aesthetics and general gameplay, -1 for the shit boss fights and -1 for the boring ending sequence.
10/10? Dont get me wrong I really really liked it, but isnt 10 for gameplay wee bit too much? Gunplay isnt THAT amazing and that somewhat screws up non stealth runs.
Why on earth would you do anything but stealth? I'm judging it purely on the stealth being slick and the game rewarding me for not killing everyone. Going to attempt, for probably the fifth time, to finish Far Cry 2.
Because its a game of options, and guns blazing is one of them. Doing a second run doing the same shit jsut sounds stupid in such a game Full stealth (loved butloads of points for ghosting, that fucking thief feel) Full metal retard One/zero item ever, (includes anything that goes into the inventory), though i guess i did a No-pickup run, since the only item ive used was typhoon that you get after getting the skill, so its technically built into jensen. Is the list of playthrough ive done. Particulary pround of the last one, but you can do 2nd boss with none after all, you just really need to fucking glitch a box into the room and i wasnt able to. Try a no item run. I had buttloads of fun figuring out how to get to places behind destroyable walls and killing the mandatory 2 box bots in china. Its doable. fc2 is balls. There is fun to be found using guns, but respawnable checkpoints make the game a real chore at times. Gets no points for story either, its flat as a banned porn actress in australia. Enemies get technicals with auto grenade launcher in second map. There is some degree of stealth, so thats cool, but dont expect anything but shit tier ai. I know i shill it alot, but if you love stealth so much, try out dark mod.
I haven't heard you mention TDM once but I'll check it out anyway. It seems to be a theme in people who like stealth games, pushing it as far as you can with retarded self-imposed rules. That's how the MGS series lasted so long for me.
Yeah, i really like self imposed challenges. I hate myself for looking up playthourgh of it on YT instead, which killed alot of good stuff for me, but dammit if the Alginon run (nothing run) didnt make a lasting impression on me. Unfortunately, old games work perfeclty with that, but almost none of the new ones do, or even if they do, it ends up an annoyance rather than a challenge. Goddammit its such a fucking amazing thing I hate myself for not pushing it harder. The only two things that bother me in the game are 1)guards can turn their heads around while walking, but instead of doing that when they get a little suspicious, they do it all the time and way too often 2)torch guards are gayer than a whole gaybar If you need a list of great missions, hit me up. I had more fun playing "Requiem" than i had during whole playthroughs of modern games.
EYE Divine Cybermancy is a much better game. You have a wider range of freedom, you can hack a door and it might just hack you back. It also has samurais that don't belong with honorabu katana and flashlights on the armor.
Waiting on Madden NFL 15. Wants to try; Viscera Clean up and Space engineers. I had a lot of fun with self imposed challenges in GTA IV and Dishonored. I basically completed GTA IV on a bike in first person view. I still haven't met someone who beats me at bike races in that game. I made the mistake of killing people who had the plague in Dishonored apart from that. I killed only my targets and only If I could not exile them or tramp stamp them in the forehead.
Viscera is fun but gets tedious after a while, probably much better with friends, but it hasn't stopped me from cleaning up most of the levels myself.
Thats a really rage inducing one, seeing as gta4 had the shittiest bike physics in recent memory. They werent bikes, they were pneumatic catapults with hair trigger-sensors placed all around the frame. Add to that the fact that gta4 really liked when you died from collision damage and didnt have regen..
yeah well you know, once you got used to them, bikes have been the best vehicle in any gta since they have been introduced in vice city. you can get everywhere you can get on foot, a car doesnt allow for that. ofc to drive bikes efficiently you need a controller to shift weight.
