This is a test of what Modo can do, and I did all of this in under an hour, which I'm very happy about.
Aye, bad camera angle, give me a second. Edit: Figures, I apparently do not know how to fix that reflection, well I'll give it a go later. It won't look like that ingame for sure though.
No offense man, but are you blind? If it didn't have a texture, it would look like the below... For comparison..
it looks like one of those fountain rocks with a hole in it where water comes out softly (garden decorations)
If it didn't have a texture it would be completely grey and flat looking... Bump maps are textures you know... However it still looks ugly, jackman is much better at it. I also don't see why you're happy about it taking a whole hour to make a blob.
Because if I had attempted this in XSI it'd of taken much damned longer, and I'm working on it. Issue is modo is starting to hate me. Edit: Oh shit, well, modo 302 just died, and in a big way.. I lost my scene file..
This is what I get for trying to push modo 302, I decided to sculpt on a mesh at about 300k polygons, lol... it ran out of memory.
I like the shape of the rock, but unless it's for putting on the surface of some water, rocks are very matt.
