I'm leaving this open s it could really be anyone, but rumors are it's ultranationalists, which in that part of Germany might be.
We shall see, but they're seriously thinking about it being a group of 'extrem rechts' At this point it is anybody's guess though.
summary of the press conference of the german minister of interior - its believed to be a "classic shooting spree" - killer was a 18 year old student born and raised in munich, he had a german and iranian passport. - there are leads to a mental condition - he killed himself - there is no suicide note - there is no leads to a connection to IS. there is no leads to his religious believes yet. - in his flat they found books about rampages. - yesterday was the 5 anniversary of utoya shootings (breivik) - he carried a (illegal) glock 9mm and had 300 rounds with him - there are hints that he previously hacked a facebook account to lure people there - all victims are from munich region - the victims are three 14 year olds, two 15 year olds, each one 19, 20 and 45 year old. three of those females (not specificed which). - 27 injured, 10 of them severe (translated this; original)
added summary - Ali David Sonboly is the shooter - had Breivik's photo as WhatsApp profile - probably was bullied in school (because of nationality?, source from 4chan/pol/) - in bag he had book called "Amok im Kopf: Warum Schüler töten" (Amok in the head: Why students kill)
Literally every mass shooting shitrags like the guardian come out saying NO LINKS TO ISIS, full well knowing that that's not how terrorist cell organisations work anyway. The very idea is that there are no links, it's inspired terrorism. Just look at that axe swinging one on the train - the Guardian came as close as they could to making the title "Many injured, including teenagers and children, in tragic train accident they fell onto an axe wielded by a terrorist"
So they should be like mirror, reminding everyone that "police didn't found any links to ISIS YET" in every update? If you still look at journalism and do not try to get only the facts from the press then I have a bad message for you...
i was wrong, it was NOT the minister of interior, it was the chief of police in that above summary, although idk how bc i could swear that was what it said before oO edit: well the ministor of interior said the same, so wahtever.
He killed Turks and Albanians (and a greek), who were likely muslim; As he's Iranian he would likely be Shia so it's unlikely he'd be linked with ISIS.
is anyone surprised people go nuts left and right? im not. and i think if it goes on like that its gonna get even funnier. i do think his origins played a not minor role in this but probably not in a way people flirting with rightwing ideotologies. i might be mistaken and it could be "positive racism" aswell, but being german seemed to play a role for him and he also said something about he would have been mobbed (maybe for being no true german?)
I followed your link about an hour after you posted it and it did say the minister of interior. They must have changed it later on.
ah good. i suspected that but i wasnt sure, i often mix things up when i read a lot. in the meanwhile i watched the actual press conference and he said the same. i guess we wont know more until a few days passed. its good they keep it vague, take their time and dont jump to quick conclusions. professionalism is better than a lynchmob.
