Tech tree layout

    Tech tree actually is a fancy gadget but it's a bit frustrating. Commander wants to choose technology quickly and go back to the game.

    Getting to the right menu takes too much time. My idea is to convert set of menus to one tree where you can select each technology.

    Another idea (I think that most of people with agree with me) is to remove animations that appear when switching through menus.

    To not make additional topic I'll add that menu position remains after the last game. So if I was choosing ie. 3 Phase Engine from Advanced Magnet from Electrical I would see the Advanced Magnet menu when my team doesn't even have Electrical researched.

    well the few seconds do not make any difference on the field, but i like any kind of micro, so Id say keep it the way it is.

    It makes big difference. If you don't care just say it. cvar for removing those animations would be also good.

    If you want to leave it as it is don't whine when there is no one who wants to comm.

    i dont whine when nobody goes comm, cuz fact is someone in the end goes comm or your team is too stupid anyway, I usually go comm. I have had only a few games where there was no comm and I ninja'd the comm everytime to end it

    There needs to be more keyboard shortcuts, that would make the menus faster, and aid a lot of the comm work. we need to be concerned about repetative stress motion here people

    yeh key shortcut rox, like from 1 to 5 on the numpad for all the research

    the only change i would like to see is an adjustment of the info.

    atm its all scrunched up down the bottom of the menu and it can be hard to pick out the required information quickly.

    listing it down the side of the reserach menu would be so much easier on the eyes and will make finding the appropriate branch quicker and easier.

    I think the research countdown still needs to be fixed (as in when you have another build window open, the research countdown doesn't work). Also, it would be good if the pop-up windows (build, research) don't obscure the kill/death messages. Prehaps they could be moved into the bottom right hand corner, where there is a big gap for the orders? Something similar to most other RTS's would also be good, where you have one section which changes depending on what you have selected.

    the menu interface does need tweaking so you can see what IS researched, but this is not an urgent issue.
