Tank stealers, more prevalent now since 2.2

Don't you hate it when you're repairing your tank near the front lines and someone jumps into your tank, drives it in where they shouldn't be, and gets your tank killed within 30secs.

 

the only reason its like that right now is bc of the newbie wave since patch... it'll settle down again.

 

I worry about it sometimes, but people seem to be nice to me

Of course if anyone does hop in it, either i'll tell 'em to get out over the mic, or i'll let them have it...it's not so often I get a pimpin' tank, and they usually steal an LT which is...well, why not let them have it?

 

I just keep my eyes peeled on arrows on the mini-map running towards me. Either I find a rep pad, or I go well away from the battlefield to repair myself, but normally I'm a gren if I'm driving.

ive seen people parc there tanks to clean the windshields while 20 meters further up the road the commander is under attack by du apc's

i stole that tank... and gave the commander enough time to escape, sadly he decide he should return and ram the apc's...

I get really annoyed when people just leave tanks on the front line, then get a new one. I once had the left side of canyon with a traffic jam of 5 unused heavies

I generally don't get out of my tank unless I'm prepared to loose it.
Then if someone does take it, I whine sarcastically until they get out, or the tank is destroyed.

 

So you don't get annoyed AT ALL when someone takes your expensive tank and gets it killed really quickly because he doesn't know how to use it? That's not benefiting the team, thats just a waste of resources. You could have killed 5 more enemy tanks in that thing, but no, some dick stole it and got it killed, possibly costing you the game if you are the only good tank driver on your team, and were successfully keeping the whole enemy team back.

 

I spend the rest of the game walling them in and trapping their tanks on turrets. Vengeance ftw.

Most tank stealers are just noobs who don't know how to make tanks. If the vehicle customization screen was a little more intuitive I think this problem would go away, for the most part. Some people are just asshats though.

Well no wonder, you weren't around before 2.0. I think I have only had my tank stolen like ONCE since the release of 2.0, but it was far more common in 1.07

 

We need vehicle locks. Like the ones in Planetside. They worked fine.
