It's a mixture of rock and opera (not the stereotypical kind), and it's...just different. It's dramatic, and you don't see that in plain rock (read: Metallica, 3days Grace, etc). It and power metal are my two favorite subgenres of heavy metal. Also, try out some Epica for size. Regrettably, I can't listen to power metal and symphonic metal because it makes me depressed.

Ahhhh, grindcore and it's derivatives. Pornogrind and Goregrind are perhaps the most vulgar, filthy, ear-raping, mind-fucking genres of metal that exist, lacking both rhyme and rhythm, seemingly existing only to offend people. Somehow though, it makes more sense than crapcore.

Man that's awesome, I never knew this genre existed yet I've always wanted to listen to something like it. Usually metal turns me away because it's listeners are tools and their vocalist are complete trash. This symphonic metal is like, Pink Floyd meets Vocal Trance.

I own a jacket with Within Tempations signatures on it, because I was waiting in line for autograms of a different band and then those fuckers came and I couldn't escape. Now I do own a hate-jacket I don't understand that genre and masturbate to this instead.
