!surrender makes newbies surrender b4 games are ended

Like they !surrender even when they have comeback chance.

Yes I know this is a server related plugin, but it's on the only server active.

Newbies are a problem to Empires no matter if there's a plugin or not. Not to mention all the people that quit and fuck around.

I have said many times that only the commander should have access to the surrender command. And only him should make the decision.

 

Command shouldn't even exist. You should try to win the game until the CV dies. No exceptions.

In short, I support surrender.
In Empires there's no place for you to go before the round ends, sometimes people have to wait for an hour for a losing team (that's not trying to make a comeback) to finally lose before they can start a new round.

However, you shouldn't be allowed to surrender if

1: Game time not hitting 20 minutes.

(Not sure if possible) 2: Your team owns more than 1/3 ref.

 

If we are playing ranked games, I am a fan of "never surrender".

But we are not, also in Empires you can't just quit this round and start another round, everyone has to wait.

If you are losing, that's fine.
If you are losing and you are not trying to make a comeback, that's fine. (Trying to make a comeback =/= put walls up and defend like a little bitch.)

If you are losing and you are not trying to make a comeback and you refuse to surrender, that's not "never surrender", that's just delaying the shit for everyone.

 

Yes but this has nothing to do with the surrender plugin. That's just the average players nowadays.
Empires is a competitive games, unfortunately it's no longer played as such, not 90% of the time anyway.
If public games were anything like scrims and PUGs I would agree that there is no place for the surrender plugin.
But the truth is, they're not! People join this competitive masterpiece and then just fuck around instead of enjoying the gameplay.

 

Still quite possible to make comebacks, and the surrender vote hardly ever passes. Though it does get spammed at times when there is no real need for it yet.

I've also seen some poor sportsmanship though, in which the winning team doesn't try to finish the game so they can wait for arty. That really sucks.

It's really something that I think requires moderation but I'm not about to sit around on the server and arbitrate every surrender.

 

I just ask them to end the game within 3 minutes or I'll just switch the map.
Usually game ends within 1 minute.

But really, winners have their rights to "play" the game.

 

keep in mind surrender is also used to punish stacking.

 

Think I remember it was turned off for some time, people complained and it was readded.
Lets see if the cycle repeats once again.

They also have the right to find the server half as full as it was before.
