Hello folks I'm new here. I havent played the game for a long time now.

But there is a crash which drives me nuts.

Ok, I try to write it understandable:

When I create a server, everything runs fine. When I join a server and I stay spectator, everything is ok. But when I join a team and play for about 10 minutes (I get some graphic stutters in that time) the game freezes. The game closes and I have an error message in my windows event manager :

(sorry I've got a german windows)

I dunno what to do anymore.

I would recommend waiting until the new version next Friday. Chances are that this will not be a problem then and there would be little point in tracking down a bug in 1.07. If it occurs in 2.0 aswell, then come on back and we'll try to figure it out :)

ok, no offence to developers, but ditch that 1.07 crap and wait for the glorious 2.0
Lots of bugs will be fixed, so uninstall it now and wait 6 more days :-P
Playing 1.07 will put people off 2.0

AND DAMN IT DEE YOU POSTED 2 SECONDS AHEAD OF ME, now it looks like i just repeated what you said....

hehe. Thanks for the heads up. I forgot to write, I dont even get a HL2DM dump. So I guess its more a windows problem...well I got the same problem on Dystopia also. in some minutes I gonna check if it crashes on DoD source, too...

Its just so frustrating. You're in the middle of a great game, just biuling those walls up, then the next second: graphics: FREEZE! sound: FREEZE!

    ARGH!

And I cant wait, til 2.0 comes out! :-)

I think it's to do with AC97 soundchips

me, bob and a few others have had problems because of it.

You could always try this one simple method.

Swap your memory combs' places. I got similar "memory cannot be read" error with Episode 2 so I thought, what the hell, at least it won't make it any worser because I can change their places again.

And boof the error was gone. "Memory cannot be read" error didn't appear anymore. So you could try to swap your RAM combs' places and see does it happen again.

if swapping RAM fixes it, you probably have a bad ram stick and need to run memtest86 for a few hours.

Also, I'd avoid these edited driver versions like OMEGA and whatnot - they can have ill effects and cause crashes.

I don't think that this would be sound related...my crashes in Vista...everyone swore they were sound related and I proved they weren't...it was large addx aware crap there.

I think I found it. I just disabled "warning at 70 Celsius CPU temp" and played eternal silence without crash (it crashed before). Tomorrow I gonna test empires. :-)

!! If removing that warning fixes it... you NEED a better fan.

Most CPUs cannot handle higher than 60-70C. If your CPU is flying that high, you NEED a better HSF. I know the Q6600 (Core2Quads) in B3 stepping can only handle around 65C - G0 steppings can handle 72C, to give you an example.

Well I overclocked my cpu. Its a Athlon XP 2500+ and I just googled the max DIE temperature:

    http://planet64bit.de/node/24

well I had the FSB on 200, now I have it back on 166. Now the CPU temp is at 39 degrees. When I had the FSB on 200 the temp was about 57 degrees.

I'm going to test the ram with memtest386, because I got some strange memory bluescreens.
