I noticed this during writing a plugin for the g4tc server (I noticed this earlier, but ignored it ) ; this problem occurs with any sticky grenade, but only if you don't have ammo upgrade. Basicially if you don't have any sticky grenades you'll get full sticky ammount if you go to an ammo box and fill up your ammo. However you should only receive one at a time (as of now, you receive 2 stickies at once, instead of one per time).
Yeah, it has been around for a long time. But yes, it gives full ammo. I've been playing around with negative ammo to restrict nades and if you get *full* ammo this won't work obviously. Apart from that incase a dev changes sticky amount in the future this will bug is likly to stay... If you get stickies directly (/ with ammo upgrade) you won't receive *full* amount, only one at a time, so this is a bug.
i thought this 'bug' was a balance feature it was meant to slow down people from getting powerful nades too fast
Huh? I don't get it. How does giving 2 nades instead of 1 make it slower to get powerful nades @@ The other way round it would make sense, but this way it doesn't.
You know how when you get ammo upgrade, it takes longer to restock your ammo? If you got 2 sticky nades at a time, it would be too quick, you would just have to press 'e' twice as you originally would without ammo upgrade. That's what I'm trying to say, the downside to ammo upgrade is that you restock longer, hence the balancing I was mentioning in my previous post. And by allowing players to only get 1 sticky nade at a time, balance is present.
i still think harry is correct though, without ammo upg you collect 2 per time, with ammo upgrade you only collect 1 per time to balance ammo upgrade
It doesn't really matter though, since stickies are not spammable anyway and only serve as a lolz kill (or a valid tactic in my case, along with melee and rocket sniping) in infantry only maps.
