Steam Empires doesn't work for me

whenever I make or join a game, my screen is stuck on the loading screen at 'sending client info'

but the weird thing is is that I can hear people, and the people can hear me

when I pressed Esc, I changed my graphics in hopes of fixing my lack of sight, but everything just went black. (I could still hear sounds though)

 

Could be you're not allowed to play, have you been added to the Steam access list (ask Trickster or MOOtant)

 

Oh, that was a weird ass bug. Idk if he is on the list though, I'll find out.

All I did was download the 'steam.zip'
and then put the .cfg file in my steam folder

am I missing a step?

 

I hope you also downloaded Steampires? Under Games, a new uninstalled game will appear: "Empires". Download that and use it to connect

 

No, he connected, but it was really weird. He could hear our voices, and mic chat to us, but he was still at sending client info, or retrieving it, I forget which.
