It's just a litte thing, but I wanted to mention it. The sound that comes when you run out of stamina is the same under water which doesn't fit. I suggest adding new sound for under water. An additional suggestion I have is to use the stammina-bar for how much air you have under water. Change the color of it when you are under water and decrease it slowly. When you leave the water the color of the stamina-bar will change back to normal, but If you were under water too long it will have to regenerate. Pros: + It's more realistic + It's more responsive (you know how long you can stay under water) and therefore makes Empires a little bit more newbie-friendly. + It adds new things you have to be aware of in game (Don't sprint to the water for escaping an evil light tank just to be shot there because you have no stamina left for diving) Neutral: +- You can't just come out of the water for a millisecond for restoring your air/stammina to the maximum. Cons: Don't see any... What do you think?
I don't think so, but if you're underwater and you run out of stamina bar from sprinting you should start taking damage.
Adding something like this seems like a waste of time to me.. And its usually little changes like this that add more bugs and weird glitches to find and fix.. But the key word you used that will make every dev shoot this idea down is realistic.. I mean people are litterally running around under water instead of swimming.. It looks retarded already.. And I don't think this little change will make emp more noob friendly because its already a very complicated game and most noobs will have experience with how the half life 2 water works..
wow, well done Sherlock. If you swim fast under water in real life, you run out of air really fast. But yea, Empires doesn't' need this as much as a swimming animation :p
Actually petemyster. You do. Go on, jump in a pool and stand still holding your breath. Now do the same swimming and moving, you run out of air faster.
+ It adds new things you have to be aware of in game Sounds sarcastic... and if you only read this single sentence without context, you are right . But there's a difference between things that aren't self-explainging and need be learned especially for empires and things which are totally logical and self-explaining. What I suggested belongs to the second class. I don't see a problem adding such things to Empires. The only problem is if you can't play properly because you should be aware of something you don't know. I should have used the word "logical" instead of "realistic". We don't need a realistic game, but Empires should be as logical as possible. I agree it isn't the most important thing, but if Empires ever gets... "finished", such little things should be made as good as possible. Concerning the lack of an swim-animation, I didn't think this is worth to mention, because it should be clear that it must be added sometimes (if we find someone who does it). Nobody said that the stamina decreases with the same speed as when you are sprinting...
