Right now It is really hard to call it down (I was able to only call it down once on Glycen) every other map it kept giving me the error "Needs to be in a clear area) even though it was, I tried calling it down on a tank group in the middle of nowhere in mvalley, same message, on an empty clearing, same message, on an enemey VF, same message... I don't know if it is supposed to be that hard to call down but if thats the case then some sort of a green area to where its going to hit might help (Something like when you are building a turret except its a giant green cricle on the ground without a distance limit) Or a more tolerant area check so that it can actualy be used on something...
I only managed to get that message twice out of the 8th attempts on crossroads... It might just have to do with the maps itself..
It's the equivalent of 3 rpg rounds. It does a trace straight up from where you're pointing to see if it can see the skybox.
Well, that might be a problem in the early game, but most of the time my squad racks up points well into the 60s. You can always drop multiple strikes.
I just can never seem to be able to fire the artilery strike... I guess ill try pointing at the skybox...
the artillarye strike should be like in C&C Generals.. totally wreck smaller buildings like the armory and turrets..
That reminds me of a bug a Generals mod had, where a unit could call down an artillery strike, but a bug caused the artillery strike to never stop if you did something.
I got few times message: "Sky must be opened" or something. What does that mean? You can use artillery strike on that map or something? I think we could use some manuals after every new RC because they have so much new features that it is sometimes hard to figure out how to use them. :D
"Location must be open to the sky" as in you can't call for artillery that's under a cliff because it would hit the point above when it falls from the sky.
on a side note, we need napalm.... ;P Isn't there any way to bind the squadskills to a key instead of going through the menus?
I second that feature request. Especially when calling in artillery you have to aim at the area and then fumlbe through menus, leaving yourself open for snipers and rifflemen.
i've had a lot of problems calling artillery on district.. it worked from one side of the location i wanted to arty... then from the opposite side pointing at about the same place, it would refuse to shoot it...
