I've tried to take into account your feedback, so here is another sound pack. HERE! Feedback plzthx :p Bold ones are ones that I have changed since last version (most important for feedback ) And now, in easy to copy-pasta format, a feedback form! I'm just trying to get the communities opinion on these Once they are finished, I can get on with the more fun stuff :p
If you want me too I can have a look (hear ) on monday. Although I seriously doubt you need my feedback after Silk and Evan gave theirs..
Well i've had some friends over yesterday evening (well the whole day in fact), so i wasn't able to test them. On this moment i'm taking a 5 minute break between taking cisco exams, which should be done within less than 2 hours. But in a little more than 2 hours there's a cw practice. I'll probably do it in approximately 5 hours, after our practice.
Well the reason is, the weapon sounds for the NF we're beefed up via pitch (Never works out though). I had Bodrick roll them back to the originals.
I've checked the Bold ones and the grenades and death sounds. For the other sounds you'll have to look up what i said about them in the previous topic. Well there's not much to be said actually, since i like all sounds as they are now, with only a few remarks: - The Shotty could have a more powerfull sound - The nuke still sounds like it's out of place, but i can live with it, certainly when you get used to it. I liked all the grenade explosions, and loved the vehicle death sounds very much. Offcourse there's a huge difference between hearing them in winamp or in the middle of a battle, so i can't say how good they sound ingame. Also remember that i don't have the 1.08 models, and a sound that seems good/bad doesn't always fit the model it's supposed to be with. Has anyone else checked them? I'm someone who's easily satisfied, while bodrick and angry may need someone more professional when it comes to sound.
NF Pistol Ok Shotty Default, good AR Great 50cal Okish (original was better for me :p) HMG Ok Scout Good SMG1 Good SMG2 Good SMG3 Good Mortar Good RPG Ok BE Pistol Good Pistol2 Great AR Has same sound as HR for me ingame, the sound itself sounds a bit like a pistol. HR Good HMG Great Scout Has same sound as HR for me ingame, sound itself is good SMG1 Good SMG2 Good Cannons Standard Good Standard Impact Good, but with my game that explosion gets used for virtually everything, including turret explosions. Makes it a bit annoying :p HE Good HE Impact Good Plasma Good Plasma Impact Sounds very electric, do you have a "sizzly" weapon sound or something so you can hear it's plasma? Rail Sounds like a rocket firing. Rail Impact Sounds like a fragmentation grenade tbh :p Railgun ammo are just chunks of ferromagnetic metal. I guess it's good Arty Good Arty Impact Good HEArty Good HEArty Impact Good Nuke Impact Really long MG Good Grenades (check the wavs directly) Smoke Good Concussion Good Seismic Good Standard Good Mine explode.wav sounds good, the others sound too much like tank impacts Death sounds for vehicles (check the wavs directly [vehicles/death]) They're all good. :p
why does the smoke grenade make an explosion noise before it lets smoke out? and personally, i don't like the way that it sounds like some of the sounds are other sounds but slowed down, or distorted. because you can hear the same patturn in all of those ones, and that makes it feel a bit repetative... sorry. I do like em though, keep going. imo you're almost there.
does anyone have a site where i can upload sounds for you guys to hear? i recently got a sony sample pack.. so its legit samples and there is a bunch of good ambient/missle/radio/crash and explosion sounds..
do you know that for a fact or as a guess? because all the smoke grenades i've used in paintballing and seen on films and such have just, put simply, pulled a cork out of the top of the grenade and smoke rushes out.
Even if it wasn't realistic, empires does not take place on this planet, so differences are to be expected. Besides it sounds cool !
Well the one the Dutch army uses blast open. These smoke grenades also smoke miles of ground though :D A couple of months ago some army dude made a mistake and a nearby highway (500+ m away) had to be closed down because of the smoke screen...
Well since tv here in belgium is almost always boring as well, i pretty much stopped watching it. Maybe onces a week i see a movie, but that's about it. Only music seems to be able to give me an adrenaline rush sometimes. Back to the topic now ....
