Did you get chance to play the mod yet?
You need to get into the habit of saving your images as png or jpg, gif adds a lot of noise to your images. Just a small suggestion.

Game needs more barrels, and more boxes tanks can crash into :p
I'm actually quite surprised at the lack of moveable props in the game now I think about it - aren't some of them default in the sdk :confused:
again, those are detail sprites :/
The default hl2 models are in Emp, I just think that mappers are afraid of lagging the servers.
i have posted some pictures, my intention was that they will be used like so:
a mapper, modeler, artist looks at the scene and then recreates a scene in hammer featuring details in the photos - paying attention to make the environment familiar and engaging.
empires as it is now, it feels, plays and looks like a GAME - as in there are so very few environments that we can see in empires and believe that COULD be a real place.
we need litter, rubbish, at least 12 different types of lamp posts, bollards and kerbs. texture-ing wise we need about 20+ street tile patterns. you will have about 7 different street tile patterns in 500M squared area in the real world.
i am not suggesting we recreate photo realistic environments - I AM SUGGESTING that we create believable environments.

After some more barrier crap I'll work on some road signs and lamp posts.
Yeah I played for 3 hours last night. That game is brokeh! So many things piss me off I'm never playing again...
sniping enemies from 1 mile away on my turret with their rockets/mortars. they're like 2 pixels high on my 1600x1200 screen
map design is just wonky as heck, some maps are the opposite of realistic
crazy repetition of props or just no objects in a long space [I played 3 maps in rotation]
no newbie server [there were 2 online when I went last night]
Ain't the worst mod I played but I fully understand why you guys need new models in there. 20 more things like vegetation, architecture [yeah the buildings are super bad, i see that now], city prop things, you guy would be set up a lot better in this mod.
I got a flame thrower I'm redoing for a Fallout3 guy and then I'll fix my texture stretching issue and make some more stuff.

There used to be a learning server around, but it's gone for some reason I don't know. (Ask around, maybe you'll get an answer)
scout rifle should be renamed and remodeled - so it doesnt attract as many noobs.
Emp takes time to learn, but by the time you learn that you really count in the game and start playing with your teammates, it's awesome.
He played emp_rage, emp_octogons and something else. I can understand your first impression of empires maps, they aren't all gimmicky but unfortunately the gimmick maps tend to get voted a lot more often than some of the realistic maps.
Octagons was just something shandy did cause he was bored isn't it?
That says it all.. I knew shit like this would and has been happening. The great maps are never played, only stacked or spec'd.. fucking sad.
I certainly don't have to like the games I make models for but it would be nice. Anyways I gave it a shot and that's good enough for me. Personally Empires needs so much improvement it's a wonder to me it wasn't just abandoned because it needs so much work.
