Anandtech: NEC PA242W PC: NEC PA242W Think I am going to get one. The only downside is the not 100% perfect display of black color. Price is not a complete issue. I can afford it.
So you're looking for an accurate monitor above all else? If other qualities are important, then that monitor might not be the best choice. There are a lot of choices at that price point. What gpu are you running?
Just a GTX 770 but, I was thinking I might upgrade some time early next year. I have taken to heart how shitty TN monitors are in color display when I had my friends dell IPS monitor (don't ask I don't remember the model) side by side with mine in dual mode and I fucking yelled "WTF" on the spot. I have seen the light and I can't go back.
Try out a decent dell 27" ips monitor. I think they have two - a budgety one and a more pro one. Even the pricier version oughta be less than your current choice while providing more work space.
I thought decent 2560x1440 monitors can be gotten at that price? Or 2560x1600, considering you want a 16:10 monitor. Hell you can get a 4k monitor for that much, but then again there is a bunch of reasons why someone wouldn't want to one right now.
Larger is not better in my case. I would prefer a nice 24". crap doing more research I just found out about a thing called overshoot ghosting that many dells suffer badly with and my chosen nec model also suffers a tad with.
Why would you want to upgrade from a 770 so early? Its not like devs will push graphics much further, consoles be dammed.
In the next 2 months there is a flood of affordable (~700$) 4k IPS coming. Even if you aren't interested in the joys of 4k, it might bring the prices down for other monitor categories too.
The cost-per-ware argument doesn't really work in this situation. There is a cutoff where size and resolution no longer improve anything. This 21", 1080p Benq LED monitor is perfect aside from it's annoying electrical on/off switch (I'd prefer a proper switch.)
I am retarded, no lead poisoning, no tumors, nothing, could blame my shitty sleeping schedule and my food intake, but those are just excuses. I didn't know you cared so much about my health, thank you for being the only person who asked.
Oh, it's happening. Have you seen Acer's new 25" 1440p monitor? I suspect it'll be of a lower "quality" than most 27" 1440p panels and will sell at a discount (<$400). Just in time for us to start lusting for 34" 3440x1440 monitors...
2 months... hmm.. I might be able to wait. Its just my current old ass sceptre monitor using VGA inputs(DVI chip is fucked on the monitors board) is causing me eye strain due to less clarity so I figured I might as well get a new monitor before shit gets too bad. No i don't want to fucking bump the txt size or DPI.
Figured you would bring it up when you was ready. Good to hear it's not a tumor. But kind of sucks you still don't know what's wrong.
