Chavs are essentially the british version of wiggers.

Horrible white trash who wear nothing but tracksuits and baseball caps, uneducated, unemployed, inbred, antisocial, unpleasant.

Also replace rap music with terrible electronica, and lowriders with sensible japanese cars with massive spoilers stuck on.

 

Sounds like a cross between wiggers and hipsters, actually. Wiggers try to act black, and I ain't never seen a black man in a track suit.

It's like a weird hybrid of gangsta and 'I'm too poor to actually attempt gangsta'.

Don't think it's anything like hipster though, no silly hats, probably no converse, just shitty hi-tech or gola trainers (addidas if you're really posh) and fila trackie bottoms. T-shirt optional.

Bonus points if you wear no T shirt but tie your tracksuit top around your waist. No. 1 haircut all over also helps. Cut two little divots out of it for maximum knobhead score. If you want to be retro-chav, go with a big nike tick in the back of your head.

Oh and tuck the bottom of your tracksuit pants into your sports socks and wear them above your ankles, with your cheap trainers. Sadly I cannot find a clear picture of this most ridiculous of behaviours, but the one in the middle appears to be doing it:
