They have 0 (zero) goldsrc and quake runs this year. What's the point in a speedrunning marathon if no one's playing the games with the most speedrunnable engines. And no Fzero? psht. They always have games riddled with cutscenes so it's really a race to get through to each non-skippable cutscene as well. I'll still watch the VODs because they're still interesting and fun, but the good speedrunning games need more playtime. Thank god Tony Hawk is in there. By the way why are you watching it on twitch instead of their website where you can chat in IRC?
Yeah ive heard someone had a bright idea to crack suicide jokes during a stream that is watched by people who lost family to cancer. ..lol
Wouldn't normally be interested but they're doing Rayman tomorrow night, so I want to tune in for that.
A marathon where nerds sit in a big hall and speedrun games for a week while raising money for charity. It makes for good entertainment for sure, that's why I always post about Zeldathon, which is nerds sitting in a moderately large hall and playing all Zelda games for 5 days while raising money for charity
The only cool speedrun I saw was fzero gx, because it was about going fast in a game that's all about going fast. It was silly to see him do all that, meanwhile I can't even finish that platinum cup.
fzero gx is really fun to watch because all the tricks that let you fly off the stage at tremendous speeds, and as anyone who's played it knows, anything you touch in that game kills you so the intensity factor is off the charts.
