is it possible to spawn, lets say, a headcrab on the field if you are the administrator of the server? and is it possible to have default NPCs on the map with NPC spawners to keep them present? :confused: I understand that there would likely be issues with this, such as getting kills on NPCs to boost scores, and other balancing issues, but would it be possible for the lulz?
I like this idea. It reminds me of starcraft neutrals. Make it so when you kill a npc you can harvest it for meat.
Also bots and NPCs are two different things, in every instance I know of they use different coding, act differently, and don't use the same navigation system as NPCs, they might be similar on a very superficial level but as entities they are quite different.
NPCs that used bot code would be interesting. Though, CS:S bots need a stupidly detailed nav graph, and it doesn't even work all that great for a lot of custom maps.
It only works great if you edit the nav... which takes a while to.. .. the auto generated navs fail most of the time (especially if the map has ladders).
