Okay so i was playing as a scout and i wondered why anyone would every use binoculars they are only good for spotting one thing and zoom as much as a sniper. so here was my idea for a replacement binoculars. A set that act as a scanner when you look into them it would show a virtual display of the world around you (controlable zoom maybe *mousewheel*) it would show the building hp and if its sabbed or not(via a little health bard and a box with a check or without) and heath of player.*maybe placement of mines as well* (pros and cons talked about in game) Pros- More information is always better Know if something you sabbed is about to die know if you should attack or hide when a person comes out Makes binoculars useful Cons- shouldnt still be able to target buildings (really who uses that) zoom (may not have zoom or it may have very little) May be too much information giving unfair advantage Oh yeah on a seperate note if u dont like this idea the controlable zoom would still be cool
binos is alrite. you can use the zoom to find some enemies who are standing still at far far far far extreme range. line up your crosshair on the bino with a doods head.. switch weapons to SMG1 or sniper rifle.. and go pew pew and do 30-90 damage.
yeah i know thats why i posted this so that they would think about changed it. also someone suggested seeing through walls with it but idk seems overpowered then
Like it, I've always hoped that recon would play a bigger part in the game, especially on the larger maps.
Make it a choice whether to use scanner or binocs. Binocs give me as a scout a nice atmosphere feedback so I can feel cool even being a stupid scout.
I usually use the binoculars when playing scout, but one thing that bugs me most is the max. view-distance. Doesn't look like there's a way to "fix" that though. Spotting things with binocs are an incredible help for artilleries vs buildings though.
no since always, if you mark an arty target (only 1 at a time), it will stay on the map for like forever. you get no targeting diamond though (thankfully)
