Scout Rifle Necro

    So I remember a million years ago when the sniper was nerfed, there were plans for a new role for the scout, which means some sort of an epic silenced shotgun (heh). What happened to this?
    Also, helicopters!?! Sweet!

    also, dont call them helicopters - devs dislike helis - its VTOLs ;)

    You actually can silence a shotgun, apparently.

    I'm a George Carlin fan, so I would say call the things what they are instead of making them sound cool.

    A VTOL is like an osprey or maybe a harrier jet. Is that what they are? And can scouts with silenced shotguns ride invisibly on the wings?

    I do remember seeing a kickin NF model, and it was VTOL style. I thought that was just a high poly concept or something though.

    actually because shotguns fire subsonic rounds, sound suppression is quite effective for them.

    here's an example of a suppressed shotgun. it sounds about like an airsoft rifle in this video which is about the best result you could hope for with a suppressor:

    Actually I just googled "Silenced" and "Surpressed" shotgun a few times, and found this. It's off no country for old men, pretty good film tbh.

    Not really but yeah.

    You can silence .410's because the Slugs it shoots are comparable to a .303 bullet. (Whereas 12 gauge is comparable to a .70 caliber) I really doubt you could fire any type of shot out of a silenced shotgun.

    A Mossberg 500 or a Remington 870? Nope.

    If anything, Empires needs unlockable optics, red dots, colminators and ACOG/low magnification rifle scopes. Also MORE CARBINES.

    I've actually heard of silenced shells for shotguns. They used a compression piston to fire the actually balls and keep the gasses mostly within the shell itself


    Edit: I have no idea where I read that though... :( CIA only probably

    Also: Isn't this thread pointless as the Scout will likely still have the Silencer Ability?
