In game, I got to nice position to attack the enemy base along with a grenadier. I dropped him an ammo crate, to rocket snipe the enemy. However my commander and several of my teammates started yelling at me that rockets don't do ANY damage to buildings. Long story short, the grenadier died before I could find out what they are saying was right and I just got closer and attacked it on my own with seismic grenades. Are what they are saying about rockets true? That rockets do absolutely NO damage to buildings. I didn't see that mentioned in the changelog.
Yes, the damage of Grenadier rockets and some vehicle rockets to buildings were nerfed to prevent rocket sniping. As far as I remember, Missle Turrets are unaffected.
lol, ingame u get no hint that rpg rockets do no dmg to buildings. i thought enemy engineers repair the building and wasted a lot of time for rocket sniping raxes ...
maybe a special note should be made in the weapons section of the wiki, and in the guide put into the empires folder. http://wiki.empiresmod.com/index.php?title=Weapons btw, the calcs look like shit on that page
its kind of counter-intuitive to have an explosive do no damage to buildings, isn't it? I mean I'm all for balancing stuff, but no damage whatsoever? just makes my brain asplode.
Well, rocket sniping was kind of silly. Also, was this out of range of his mortar? If you're close enough to use the mortar, it's really a far better choice for destroying bases, especially when you have an engineer around to support you.
I recall repairing a building under attack, and the rockets did no damage. Vehicle missiles and turrets still work great against buildings. Likewise, you can still rocket snipe turrets.
Found out by this as a commander on isle.. ''Barrack is under attack'' Then I see a guy spamming rpgs at it.. Dealing absolutely no damage at all. :D
Well damage reduction for buildings is 1/6. For RPG reduction is 1/20. 1/120 * 105 (RPG damage) gets rounded down to 0. Upgraded RPG might do 1 point of damage.
Instead of making RPGs do zero damage to buildings, why not just make them have a limited range? You solve the rocket-sniping problem, while still having the game make sense and have better gameplay.
(imnot trying to be a dick, but there is no other way to word this) what prompted you to say that? i just fail to see the relevance of that statement.
I hope they change them back, this is just silly. I mean. It's an RPG. It's made to destroy buildings and armor! What's next, the SMG1 doesn't hurt people anymore?
