As I currently can't play Empires because I'm on a crap laptop, I can't check out all the changes yet. If anyone feels like it, they can check out the Empires Manual (http://www.empiresmod.com/help/ or the 'manual' folder in your Empires install) and see what parts have become outdated. Infantry and Vehicle specifications are most certainly out of date, as is the research tree. There have been extensions to the Commander interface as well, so suggestions are welcome.

Obviously, almost all the GUI screenshots need to be updated. Should put something about kill assists in there too, how revive engineers are colored differently on the minimap, note that skill progression goes 10-30-60 instead of 10-20-30, change where it says engineers get their second turret from 40 to whatever it is now (60?). If wages are here to stay, then they should be explained. Tank ammo needs to be brought up and how it can be refilled at an ammo box or repair pad. Put something about comm targets in there too and the controls to do it; it's not particularly intuitive.

There's more, but that's just from a quick skim.

I think engineer getting their second turret is broken. I had 100 points on Escort yesterday and could still only place 1 turret.

This is extremely minor, but I thought that the voting menu popped up with ",", not ".".

Under "infantry tips", since walls have been nerfed, maybe you should add that mortars destroy unbuilt walls in 2 shots.

Under "vehicle tips", someone should probably add that heavy, medium, and artillery tanks can rotate without actually moving, thus allowing them expose their strong side without any added heat.

Under "vehicle chassis appendix", I believe that the cv actually has 1500 hull health instead of 1000, but this honestly doesn't really matter that much to new players.

Under "weapons appendix", the rifleman sticky bomb is listed as doing the same amount of damage to vehicles as mines, but IDK, this doesn't sound right to; I thought that the sticky bomb did more.

Somebody needs to remove the costs in the research tree appendix.

Somebody needs to update the engineer squad aura under "Squads" to read 2hp/2s or whatever the new value is.

Under "structures appendix", specifically, for the repair station, somebody should probably explain how you can use the repair station to recustomize vehicles.

Edit: Also, I don't think that grenadiers get double pistol ammo anymore, but I could be wrong on that count.

Since I am boring atm. Red for corrections and Yellow for advices.
    This is for "Getting Started"
    ---------------
When you earn experience(point) you will be able to unlock Skill Slots.

the Commander Voting Menu ("." by default) should be ,
Please add a line that tells new players they shouldn't opt in if they are new to the game. You have it at the bottom but that's not strong enough if you put it there.

updated HUD, round time added. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/22159878/HUD.png

updated minimap, the current one is older than my dead grandpa. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/22159878/minimap.png
The commander is represented as a cameracrosshair icon. If your team has a commander, his name will be shown in the top left corner of the screen.

Add explanation for the coordination of minimap

    updated scoreboard. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/22159878/scoreboard.png

Add two ways to obtain points, one is having 2 critical kills assist and the other one is having 3 kills assist.

The point required to unlock skills are now 10/30/60

Actually just give me the file and I'll do the edit job for you whenever I am boring.

You can find the HTML files in your Empires install under the 'manual' folder.

    I took vehicle tips:

    Vehicle combat:
    2. The right weapon for the right job.
High Explosive Cannons and Nuclear missiles are very effective against infantry, and certain machine guns can damage tanks as well as infantry. You should probably name the MGs: both DU and BIOMG.

Add a new point: Grenade Launchers are very effective against clumps of infantry and buildings, and can even damage vehicles (not recommended due to difficulty in landing the shot).

    3. Fight smart!

    2. Keep an eye on your heat levels. If someone is far away from you and driving in circles while you just sit there spamming your weapons, he might just be baiting you. Once your heat levels are in the red Noes, it's when the bar is filled!, most engines will stall and you will be unable to fire your weapons, he'll swoop in for the kill.
    5. Watch out for mines. They cause a lot of damage to vehicles, and can often kill a non-upgraded tank with a single mine. For this reason, Grenadiers are a great tank driving class because you can choose the Defusal skill, which will let you drive over mines without setting them off. Maybe add: Make sure you don't get out of your tank over enemy mines, as it's you that stops them from exploding, not the vehicle!

It's 12 in the morning for me and I have nothing else to do; I'll take a crack at it, add relevant tips, remove outdated info and swap out the numbers with the ones in the scripts.

If anyone has any tips to add, feel free to mention them and I'll throw them in where they make sense.

I thought missiles did very little damage to buildings, or is that just the rpg ?

Is it still the case that the more heat your tank has, the more damage it takes? If so, it should be mentioned somewhere (if it isn't mentioned somewhere else)

Now that there is a suicide option, the "switch to spectator" method can be removed? It's a sloppy way of doing it, and cheating as well really cause you'll have seen the enemies positions

That's RPG. Buildings do have resistant stats that trickster put in but, I forget what and where they are. Perhaps he can say what they are.

Specifically, the RPG does 1/20th of its damage to buildings while the Mortar does 1/5th of its damage to buildings. So the RPG does 6.5 damage while the Mortar does 26.

I thought that the "more damage with more heat" thing was removed.

    BUMP

Im doing some work on this at the minute. Can someone write up info for the new maps in 2.4/2.41 for the maps_and_gameplay section

Edit: Need a screenshot for this (if applicable):
The information in the manual is typically repeated a lot of times in seperate sections. Should it be like that or should stuff be mentioned once in the most appropriate area?
