When you turn the screen, or walk, when in ironsight mode, it sways from side to side simulating the sway when you walk; though it looks cool in "Normal" mode it makes it harder to aim during ironsight mode (Sure you arent walking when you are shooting, but the constant swaying makes it annoying and hard to keep track of targets if you are moving around the corner or are just ready to unload a bucket of lead on some poor sod far away... Or at the very least restrict the sway to a more up and down bobbing motion (Though still very gentle and non distracting)
You shouldn't really be moving around in ironsight mode. You go ironsight, shoot someone, un-ironsight, sprint over there or over here, ironsight, shoot another guy, rinse & repeat.
I wish there was some sort of "acceleration" for lack of a better term, so that it doesn't sway if you just barely tap the button to move.
There is: the sway is all controlled client-side by non-cheat-protected console variables. You can disable it totally if you want to, but I like it.
The problem occurs when you are standing still and you try to move the gun sideways but it sways blocking off a little bit of your view...
Why do you use ironsights? Just go engineer and use their smg, its just as good and takes alot less skill.
i agree... the SMG is reliable which is not what the rifles are from my experience. perhaps i just spray to much as a rifleman.
I think the scouts are good enough as is. The sway is soo minimal with a scout I can't even notice it. The sway is alot less than it is in other games already. Giving them a hold breath function is making this game Sniping for Dummies.
maybe its just me then, but i can never land head shots with it scoped because of the sway, and i'm amazing at sniping in virtually any other game
Isn't it? I've been killed in 1 shot many, many times at very large distances by that weapon. Even a sniper would have problems with being that effective.
Scout rifle is a sniper rifle, sorry, but what other purpose does it serve? Can you hit people at a long distance? Is it ultra powerful? Does it have a scope? I mean, what in the world! Are we talking about the same gun here?
Until we get a "real" sniper rifle, I think it's safe to call the "scout rifle" a "sniper rifle". A rose by any other name, and with a scope, is just as deadly...
