I recently opened up my old comp to and picked out a few awesome screenshots. I just wish I still had most of my screenshots from pre 1.05. Damn constant reformatting lol. I still have a few which you'll see here, but I'm sadly missing many

 

Yeah, I miss when empires was good too

 

Empires is still good. It's just that back then Empires was less about about drama and more about gameplay. Not that there wasn't drama

I kinda like the older-looking weapons compared towards the new ones. They don't shine all the time, ya know.

March 2006 was a busy month:

-Fixed: crash when canceling/completing an order and the target of the order was already removed from the game
-Fixed: crash when trying to issue praise to a squadmate that didn't exist
-Fixed: crash when a shell/mortar detonated and couldn't find its owner
-Fixed: crash when spotting a target with the binoculars, then 120 secs would pass and the binocs would try to remove the spotted status except the target had already been destroyed/removed
-Fixed: crash when a mine was checking if a vehicle that touched it had a passenger with mine defusal to prevent detonation
-Fixed: crash when denying a player from joining your squad
-Fixed: commander crash when having only one unit selected and that unit dies
...

I remember that swamp map in a press release for empires.

...and I think that mp5 model is still in the models folder, lol.

yeah i loved that map. sniper heaven too, which was actually fun when you were dodging sniper fire in the middle of a gunfight and fffffffffffFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF when you were hopping out to repair your vehicle.

 

Yeah climbing on hills and spamming level 3 turrets that could hit everything in middle was fun?

Badlands was always a race to arty. And Ark redid it for 2.0 and it didn't stick around.

 

heh, I'm too new to remember this. 2.0 here.

However, I have heard stories about the horrible lag from turrets updating their angles every frame.
