Apparently it used to be a thing.
Talk to Trickster.
it turned into dick-drawing contests...
is that supposed to be a con or a pro? really can't tell. Also everything ever is about dicks, who cares?
This is damn beautiful
I'd kill to have something like that in game, it's just too epic
and maybe add some sound for newbs to pay attention?
If someone wants to grief there's always a better way for him to grief, if people wants to draw dicks like 5 year old kid it's his call.
But I "think" it was removed due to techincal/coding issues.
Yeah it never made it to stable release because of technical issues if I remember rightly, but it was mostly implemented.
tbh that should be a constant accessible panel throughout the game that the commander can use to instruct people.
Yeah, no. In a regular Empires game you have no time to waste looking at the map, the only person that should be looking at the large map should be the commander. Everyone else should have their minimap zoomed in.
The commander (and possibly the squad leaders) should be talking during the Tactical planning, adding sounds would only create useless noises and chaos.
And there is nothing that can be done about newbies not listening, STOP TRYING TO FIX IT!
interesting, that might explain why a huge majority of players has no fucking clue whats going on on the other side of the map. so its not utterly poor map awareness, its just that they intentionally deprive themselfs of the information.
i actually never even considered that.
Yeah, no, almost nobody does that but in a good game with a good commander your squad should be focused on its objective until told otherwise, what happens somewhere else is not your concern.
This feature isnt lost. Code still exists but is unfinished/tested.
Never tested it so I dont know what state its in. (Whether it works after numerous engine updates etc.)
That's what I was hoping for.
Awful advice that doesnt give you any kind of advantage unless youre playing in 800x600 or want to enjoy people being unable to call out rushes and ninjas.
It's nice to do when you have enhanced senses, out side of that I really don' t see the benefit.
Okay fair point there, it does indeed help with that.
I'm talking about 21vs21 or 26vs26, even without a minimap there's no way a rush can go unseen.
What about a ninja rax?
Also why would you ever trust your teammate in pub games?
I'm not talking about pub games, come on guys...
If you don't have a camera at the exit of the tunnels on SoF you deserve to lose...
Empires is all pub games so im not sure exactly how we were supposed to piece that together
