Hi. Bob brought it to my attention that there are supposed to be multiple radar dishes on mvalley. I don't see them... I just invisible see objects (i can't walk through them). Can anybody upload the model for me? Thanks in advance.

You should have everything already if you installed the lastest patch. Maybe you're model detail slider not on high? Do any of the other buildings look like it's missing stuff?

Haha not sure about the other buildings... they look like they've always looked to me. My detail slider is not all the way up. I'll give that a try, thanks.

I htink bob is just fucking around with you.

IIRC, there's only 3 radars, all of them are at north.

Still having problems with my models. On mvalley, the radars dont show up (see attached screenshot).

On most custom maps the buildings all appear completely black. On these same custom maps the buildings look fine for other people. Buildings work fine for me on full release maps.

I have reinstalled empires 3 or so times and the problem is always there.

    I have a radeon 7500 (32MB) card.

    Any ideas?

I'd say it's probably because people haven't built cubemaps. Try typing "buildcubemaps" into the console on each of the maps, and see if that makes any difference to the black buildings. That draw error on mvalley definitely looks like a video card issue though.

I tried that. Didnt work :-\

And the buildings show up correctly for others... so is it the map or me?

    Radeon 7500? Jesus!

Did you ever see the radars?
You're graphics card forces DX 7.0, so the only options that will affect your performance are blob shadows, texture resolution and LoD detail.

It might be related to DX 7.0.
The dishes could be prop_statics with mindxlvl 8.0, but that's pretty unlikely, especially since R_Yell knows what he's doing, I presume. ;)

Keep it on topic people, if you want a videocard discussion take it to off topic or the Black Hole.

It is on discussion. The videocard is why I can't see the radar dishes. It forces dx7

I can see radar dishes at DX7, so something must be wrong with your settings in the game, like model detail.

Is your DX7 a setting or hardware limitation?

I've every conceivable combination of ingame video settings to no avail.

He was talking about your hardware's native DX limit.

    DX 7.0 is Radeon <=7500, GeForce 1 / 2 / 4 MX

It however, doesn't really make a difference.
If dx is set to 70 it will force the 7.0 render path on the card.
    Lowest possible would be 60 / 6.0.

That's what i said, my video card can handle DX7 max, and i have DX 9.0C installed. I can put model detail, texture detail on high and have the same performance as with medium/low.
