Probably the most unpopular genre here. Which do you like, and which do you loathe? I'm a Gran Turismo and Need For Speed nut. :>
colin mcrae was always fun for a quick shot. I liked gran turismo up to the 2nd where I felt it was all just getting a little too complicated.
Project Gotham Racing 2 (playing this game with Tiesto's Nyana album = win). I also bum Gran Turismo 3 off my friend every now & then. Flatout/2 wasn't so bad either. Misc: There's is also Exicite Bike 64, & ATV Offroad Fury 2, I know they have nothing to do with cars, but they are still racing games.
Trackmania is trippy amazing fun. Games like wipeout are always more interesting than normal racing games. People watch races for the crashes, hence the best racing game ever, Burnout.
The last racing game I can remember playing was F-Zero for the 64... so I guess that's it. Yeah, not a big fan.
Last racing game I played on the N64 was Extreme-G 2, the coolest feature in that game was breaking the sound barrier, all you would hear is the wind passing by, the game also had some catchy midi techno sangs. Too bad Acclaim went out of bussiness, I wonder if anyone is going to pick up the XG series.
Trackmania is good. Flatout 2 is nice and if you just have patience to race against trains on tracks then Gran Turismo 4.
NFS:MW was fun for a little while. Then I got bored. Fast. Oh...and somehow the opponent's car is ALWAYS better than you when he's driving it...but win his pink slip and look at the car and it looks like a watered down POS. About the best part in that game was driving the dump truck around trying to run up the amount of damages caused. It was even more fun when you cheated and got infinite nitro....suddenly SUV heavies seem like they are made of paper machet. Anyway, I haven't touched the latest NFS...about the only truly good thing in the NFS games are the graphics...but even Far Cry with HDR+AA looks better. And why do I keep typing NSF instead of NFS? Oh yeah, Deus Ex...that's why.
F-Zero GX F-Zero Pod here is a link Burnout games are good Foroza Motorsport was pretty realistic But the best racing games can need only two words in their title Mario and Kart
Kart Rider: http://www.kart.nexon.net/ But I mostly play the Chinese version since the American version is down =\
mta sa is lots of racing fun :D one of my friends always buys the new console, sadly hes just an average gamer and I doubt he ever finished any of the games by himself (thank god for him theres xbox live), he always watches me finish all his games, and ill play em hours on end without hesitation :D So yeh he also had gotham racing and nfsu2, and I have to say gotham racing is pretty good, nfsu2 is complete shit though. Best NFS is porsche unleashed, try beating the records set by some older 911 in the highscores of the maps... ...with the same car, never was able to beat all maps :/ colin mcrae is fun on everything except the highest difficulty, (simulation, realistic?) which is 10x as hard as getting special licence in gran turismo D:
