yeah i like this idea supaste because new featured models are a godsend for a maapper... you can host the files on filefront, you could use my account as me and slasher used it to look at my map... but yeah good one!
I did a quick and dirty unwrap and threw in somekind of a rust texture in less than 5 minutes in GIMP. :p The first blend file after my modifications: If anyone thinks they could use this thing I can upload it somewhere tomorrow. Also I removed 8 useless faces(something no one can ever see, I left the faces on the bottom alone though) and 8 lone verticles that were forgotten there.
I made some tank wrecks a while back for dnc's map. They're not particularly good (or optimised), but could be useful to someone... If anyone wants me to put them up somewhere, drop me a pm or something.
Does anyone know any good uploading sites that don't need you to register? I forgot the password to my brothers web space. :p
you dont need to for file front though it makes things easyer. oh and Wereaser if your going to texture the other 1 do it in black... i think it would look good...

:p Probably because it was the third unwrap I've ever done and I didn't bother much with placing the elements in the texture, I just threw somthing together in GIMP and arranged my UV cordinates so that it looked like something... It's supposed to be rust by the way. :p I've always sucked with 2D.
Not too hard, if you get it right the first time. :D It took me two weeks to get my first model properly into HL2. Mainly because I didn't know how to do it right... Edit: You need the .smd exported from Blender, and a .qc file for the compiler and a .vmt file that describes the surface properties and right paths and then the textures turned into .vtf format stored in right path. I think that HornyRabbit or someone else can give you the details.
me and you should make a prop design team.. though im not that good at blender but hey! i can learn and get better. (also added a skip model to my list which i made, btw can you get a triangle count in blender?)
I put textures on your rubbish skip and export it into hammer I also done up a phys box and an extra LOD for it. *EDIT* 124 triangles and 60 triangles for the LOD
I tested it and it worked for me. I assume that you are looking at it in hl model viewer, if so then it means the model can't find the texture for it. Make sure you have copped the materials folder from the zip into your empires folder. For some reason my model viewer won't show wireframe for any model anymore, I assume yours is doing the same.
