I was only on for a short period of time earlier today, but I found several bugs with prone. I do not know exactly how some of them happened, but the least I can do is tell people that they are there and maybe someone else can figure out what is causing it.

1)(Most serious issue) It seems that while running in certain spots and dropping prone at the same time will make you fall through displacements. This is obviously large issue because people can, once undernath the map, build turrets, kill people, and do lots of things that shouldn't be done.

2)When a player stands on a prone scout with hide, the scout becomes COMPLETELY invisible.

    3) When a player dies in prone, he will respawn in prone.

    4) Players have the accuracy of if they were standing up when prone. (This is already known but i'll still put it in here)

I think there might be one more, but I can't think of it at the moment.

While beeing proned and using the calc, it empties your ammo really fast but builds as fast as before!

Oh, and prone sounds similar to pr0n(porn)!

while in an armory I can switch to prone then go to crouch and become part of the armory. They can't shoot me but I sure as hell can shoot them.

If you place a barracks over some shallow watter as happened on that island map, its possible to spawn under the barracks and drown. I was in prone when I nearly died. When I spawned I was still in prone mode but I spawned under the barracks... I nearly died but I had to jump while still in prone and it set me above the floor.

Sometimes (even when there's nothing in my way) my character just crawls back up to standing position again after going prone. Rather annoying tbh

My god! He has become one with the machine! THE END TIMES ARE UPON US!

heheh, I make myself laugh. Seriously, though, here's another MINOR bug, not as big are these other issues.

If a scout hides while prone and another person jumps on top of him, he becomes completely invisible, but his screen is only as dark as very hidden. Not a big exploitable feature (as you have to have another VISIBLE person that appears to be floating in mid-air on top of you), but a little odd.

On the plus side, a team of scouts with hide has the potential to stage some hilarious hijinks. (imagine a tower of invisible prone scouts!)

Not sure if this is the same thing, but here's what I found:

If you have the calc out and start building a target, then start strafing or otherwise moving while in prone, the construction will stop. If you keep moving a while, all the time with fire held down, then come back into the range of the building, then stop moving, all your ammo gets emptied very quickly. When your ammo runs out, you stop building as usual.

You can't build any quicker on average, but it can be used to get a "boost" of power over a short time (as a single engineer, I was able to put up a wall in about 2 seconds after about 8 seconds of charging).

If 3 or more people prone on eachother, you might create a ladder or tower when each player stands up again, which would scare any enemy, seeing a human tower rise up in seconds.

I lol'ed! omg, that would be fucking AWESOME. And if they were invisible scouts, it would literally APPEAR OUT OF NOWHERE. God, that would be hilariously awesome, so much so that I must create a new word do describe it. And I shall do so now: the human death tower is scrumtrillescent!

If your aim will be beter when prone then i'd like to see it take much longer to get up and moving speed not be as fast as moving ducked maybe. So a thrown grenade is your downfall for being higher accuracy and harder to hit. There was a few games in the past you could instantly hit the dirt and get back up again and it was horrible.

    One question:
Do we want to have it realistic?

Im not talking about it being realistic at all, im talking about it being good balance instead of overpowered for its advantages.[fine, a long post to explain a potentially serious future problem in some maps.]
This was never an issue of being realistic, just being able to increase accuracy/decrease your size without much penalty and reverse it and run if a grenade comes. Then it becomes standard a little later on, where people in the street fighting will always hit the dirt, get up again and jump to the side, hit the dirt...As they shoot the enemy doing the same thing.

I really dont want to see that again[other games], especially in this game which is suposed to require more thinking than the others[as opposed to rapid frantic button mashing blowing away all other tactics].

Just some foresight, im not asking for a flaming here. It's just that in my opinion if your going to deploy yourself that it should be more of a permadent thing that you have to wonder if you would rather just duck instead. This wouldn't make any dif but in close fighting like District or maybe crossroads. But if you want the accuracy then your going to be stuck there longer if [low timer left]grenade/player from behind happens.[nothing serious, just 2-3 second get up time]

/me adorns flame resistant coat & vaseline :headshot:

    prone already has its drawbacks..
    1. when zoomed in in prone you cant move.
    2. you move very slowly
    3. it already takes a while to go prone

I would like to see a stamina "damage" though if you go prone while standing..

Trying to sprint while prone does a very minor increase to speed, but stamina usage is the same.
