I pass by this place all the time too and from school.

 

He looks like his skin has been flayed off.
It's disconcerting to say the least.

It looks like an abortion.

 

Its the ground water table and the crazy high ph value of the water kills the algae so it just stays that colour. Its being mined to spread on the fieldls, for animal food and other stuff.

This is one I just took out of my bedroom window in the UK. It's a pretty dull day and the hills have snow on them.

There is less snow now, it was even all clear and warm for about a week but then it all came back and now its cold as hell again.

I love European towns like that. I can't wait to get back to the Netherlands for my next job. The little cafés with the outside chairs with Heineken umbrellas and shit alongside the canal. I love it.

Not in the UK really. We don't do the outdoor café stuff much, not in the north at least. I've spent less than a week in the south across my entire life so I can't really comment. It's just something I always see when I'm in France or the Netherlands, though they don't tend to use beer umbrellas so much in France. I really like it.
