From what I know they will all be VTOL, but that doesn't mean they are slow (take the Harrier II jet as a reallife example).
I know they wont be slow, but I had the impression there would be really really fast jets that, if they flew very low, would pass infantry so fast he would shoot nothing but air. To me it sounds like something a grenadier could RPG to death.
That would overcomplicate things. You already have to consider altitude, velocity, fuel, blackout limits, ammunition, aiming, weapon selection, armor, health, location on minimap, etc. You'll have enough on your hands already without having to switch gears as well. (There is a damn good reason modern aircraft have a ton of computers doing most of the flying for them.)
I'm happy as long as theres something very very fast, and if someone will answer that, i will shut up, weather I like the answer or not.
Krenzo mention somehundred knots quite a while ago. I don't know the exact number anymore but something between 300 and 600, with 400 being a good guess to what it might have been. If you really wanted to know you could search the forum for "knots".
We had actually planed super fast airplanes but we felt that it made things unfair to the players useing blimps so we scrapped the high speed jets.
lol :p No, we aren't the same person. For some reason I didn't think of Megel when I registered, although I knew his name. I thought about requesting a rename before. the names are similar to such extend that people might mix stuff up, despite Don Music not being an original name anyways.
STALKER did do iron sights REALLY well... They had no blur. You slowed down some 25% when you pull them up; when you shoot for more then 5 shots; the rifle springs up uncontrollably so it encourages you to shoot in bursts; but it still didnt spray all over the place; just up.
I dunno, I'm finding that I'm not using them much. I just use the single-pixel dot in the middle of the crosshair and squeeze off one or two bullets at a time, and they go down pretty quickly. I love the idea of the sights, but I just find that with the amount of vision they block and the fact that aiming is harder sans a little pixel where you know it's centered, I just end up falling back on the normal thing. And yes, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is the reason I've been scarce on the forums lately.
The pistol sights are hard to use, i admit, because its a little peg on the gun. But i really like the rifle sights. Plus, dumpster, have you gotten to the Bar yet? *POSSIBLE SPOILER* if you leave the bar town to the east you will encounter 4 snipers. Once you kill them you can take their scopes from their guns and attach it to any Warsaw Pact rifle you own.
Just got to the bar, still roaming around and piddling about in the Garbage, though. I plan to raid the Agroprom place and the other compound nearby that was raided by the military, find some ammo, explore, etc. I'm using an AK47-U (the modified one you can find in Strelok's stash), and I just find the sights basically useless.
Well, im using the Botaka or whatever it is that you can buy from the bartender. I havent found streloks stash, is that the underground one? Cuz i ran outta there when i got attacked by an invisible mutant. I have a silenced AK and an mp5 with 500 rounds stashed in a gatehouse in Garbage, i love the stash system :p. Wish you could jot down where they are, tho.
I had found a modified thunder that could use 5.45 ammo, pretty much used the gun till the end. In the last 2 levels I started using the g36 though, those damn monoltihs just kept spawning all around me D: The iron sights are awesome, just impossible to get any head shots at long range, especially when those bastards keep moving and taking cover.
