Sounds like EVE you spend $14 a month for subscription and it takes you 8 months before you can fly anything not considered a noob ship ($112). It can take 1.5 years before you can be useful at anything due to slow skill researching ($252). 2+ years for being good at a chosen job (Miner, Runner, PVP, PVR, Complex, Bounty Hunter, Merc) ($336 $$$). Shit tons of time to be an elite (Fuck you retards who dump cash time into this).
consider the following: -a bunch of guys on 30 day chars who understand tactics and strategy and who work together can stomp "better" fleets hard -if youre gud at capitalism you can make mad dosh from like day 5 -granted it does take a long time to skill anything to level 5, its partly like that so everyone doesnt just do everything. you have to be dedicated to your cause and an alliance cant just conjure 50 carrier pilots out of space dust. -you can be an actual influence in an actual conflict with actual people fighting in it, in ships built and transported by actual people, made from ore mined by, you guessed it. you can armchair general so hard the gobermints will spy on you for your insane strategy. -feels nice when you pick up like 30 million worth in loot from the wrecks of a battlefield or end up salvaging for a similar amount. -its not "beta: the alpha version: beta expansion: alpha v0.002452 (now includes actual space!)" -you can fly a space dick. too bad the new minmatar artillery cannons look like vacuum cleaners. i mean come on.
if it takes someone 8 hours to crash a party with no survivors and move delicious loot into cargohold then i seriously pity them if they end up mining for 1 mil an hour in highsec for their main supply of isk i pity them even more besides arent most mmos all about wasting lots of time, mostly so by grinding? its just, there isnt really anything to grind here unless you really want to do pve missions all day
