OMG i have 25fps in empires with 6600gt

    Hrm.. Are you sure all the normals in the model are pointing outwards? There's a simple command in blender to face all the normals out. There's probably something like that in 3DS too. Try the unify command. I'm not sure if it does exactly that but it might help show up any problems.

    If you mean that they used transparency maps that need to be visible from both sides then try copying those polys and inverting their normals. Make sure to move them a tiny amount away from the original poly or they'll have shading issues.

    I didnt say i had any problems with normals, i said some original models might have single polygon walls that needs to be 2-sided but i havent checked this.

    I think that models were so detailed that author didn't bother to make a flat surface that is double textured.

    So: we are just waiting for modeller's answer if they really want to double side texture it. Even if it won't make it have less polys it will use less fill rate.
