Surely getting the latest iteration of them possible is the best idea? I.e. the last version before they were removed. I know you can't start that version up though.
The 1.0 Beta in the link is unplayable it seems. EDIT: And because custom content doesn't work in the 2.31 steam version there is no way to see the models in game. Maybe someone could find a later version?

The animations for them are awful, the reloading just basically dips them off the screen, and the recoil just feels wrong. Even the holding of them is pretty bad, look at the pistols for example. But the old NF SMG2 looks pretty nice, as well as the beloved SMG3. Scout Rifle is pretty interesting too.
BE SMG1 looks nostalgic. I seem to remember that was...kinda felt like it fired? I like the new one, sure, but that felt more like a sorta popgun with damage. Maybe it's the fact that BE SMG1 now looks sorta...not as long..needs mhoar stockage :p
Am I a total weirdo, or does anyone else think that some of the old weapons look sexier then the current versions? EDIT: I do agree that the animations and ect. are just weird/odd. EDIT2: When does the next version come out?(So we can use custom content again)
I can't quite believe that empires looked even worse once upon a time, with a few exceptions. The 3rd person models seem generally better quality though, especially the RPG's (compare the black block that is the BERPG now to the old one) The old NFAR is hilarious.
I'm guessing the hands look like complete shit because the animation is for the new guns so the hands are in strange position. Well I wouldn't know I'm not ancient enough to have ever used these guns but man are those hands shitty looking, I'm no doctor but that shit isn't healthy.
Lol, I remember that. Isn't it funny that right now people whine about pistols? People used to snipe with those things in the past
Our own weapons look much better in HLMV than they do ingame btw, so bear that in mind. I like a few of the old ones myself, and they are usable, but the animations are too shitty to even think about using. I could get that fixed but I have no need for them. A 3rd SMG would be redundant to be honest, as much as I'd love a reason for one. I can't see a way I could ever add any of them in and actually have them cover an area the current ones don't. And on top of that, only the NF models really changed.
