This would actually make a nice radar, If radar were seperate from research labs and actually used to see stuff

Looks nice, but a bit too tall (think of the rax, people doesn't like it being that tall).

Shorten it, what I see and think that I could shoot at, should be what I can shoot at. Or we'll have the turret hitbox thingy again.

As Brutos said, look at the BE airpad for reference. Whilst might not be set in stone, maybe focus on a single pad, a not so tall tower, a control room and whatever else you wanna shove in it. And above all, the size.

    But really promising work.

Snipes-- while the multiple pads would be an interesting touch, you have to look at the airbase from a practical gaming standpoint: the model needs to be a manageable size and should be as functional as possible. What I mean by the latter statement is that if there are three helipads on a model, then a player expects all three to be functional. Admittedly it would be pretty cool if multiple stations worked on a single airbase, but as I don't think that's going to happen you might be better off focusing your poly budget on a single pad.

Also, the larger radar dish is cool but it heavily obstructs one of the pads, and as a structure the airbase doesn't make a lot of sense. If you look at helipads like this one and this one (which is pretty cool looking), you'll notice that they tend to be built in elevated positions where there is a lot of horizontal clearance and no vertical obstructions. Your current designs would prove to be pretty nightmarish for any pilot as there are a lot of obstacles they'd have to deal with. Try elevating a single platform and if you still want a tower push it as far away from the pad itself as possible. You'll end up with a cleaner design that also makes more sense.

And let me know if you want me to do a paintover of the model-- it'll give a better idea of what I'm talking about.

Keep it up though-- I'm interested to see where you take the next iteration.

hmmm i do like that a lot. But try and do what others are saying and mabe make one med/large pad insted of lots of little ones. Will make things simpler. But i have to say it looks increadbly nice :) I say that is some of ur best work for Empires yet :)

Or maybe 2, one as a build pad and one as a repair station but for planes? Both have a purpose then, and it'd probably all fit.

that was waht i was thinking, the launch pad would be for the Vtols, the runway for the NF gunship, and the other 2, 1 for repairs, 1 for rearms

the big tower + radar look awesome but seems like they would hit the planes that take off if it would rotate

Everything is VTOL, even the gunship. No runway.
