I guess I just feel that everyone should be using _functionally_ identical clients. By all means reskin your weapons etc to change the way Empires looks for you, but imo if you've modified your game client in a way that gives you an advantage over anyone who hasn't, that's cheating. If you're skilled enough to edit such things - I'm not - then by all means do so, but have the courtesy not to use them until they're properly packaged into an update.
I once edited the BE APC/AFV's texture so I could see if the incoming vehicle was an APC or an AFV. It failed as they share the same texture and that's why I am always seeing APCs and AFVs with a nice big "BREN00DLE" printed on their sides.
So download my particles and get all your friends to do so and we'll all be using functionally identical, sexier clients.
so get it into Empires 2.25, then we'll all be using functionally identical, better clients without the possibility of anyone being disadvantaged by being left out.
the only mod that i have is the 'barbed wire removed on nf walls' mod, but i am sympathetic to thetim because even this technically puts me at an advantage against someone who doesn't.
But more people have installed HL2 than Crysis. And because nearly nobody is going to buy Crysis just for Empires, we have to use the more popular engine.
i could, and i would buy crysis for it then again, i like the cosy "its a halflife2 mod" mood around it no lol i just pulled an image from a medium old game and said that was empires to prank everyone
