Empires is science fiction. NF is mostly cold war era, but it has those sci-fi elements. Learn your facts before laughing at people, you make yourself look like the idiot.
Not like people it doesn't. People bend at the stomach, that's just going to be hard for him to use, that's why kevlar vests stop above the stomach.
Oh god is that that navy watch stander picture I gave you, the guy on the 50 cal? I'm sorry but the fire hood he's wearing just looks fucking retarded.
To be entirely honest, the worst part of this drawing has got to be the armour colour. We have a soldier in the desert, with desert camo, and he's wearing near-black armour plating!
near black will probably be better than white/yellow as the last colours reflect like hell... SnowCamoflage has black in it for a reason
I feel segmenting always improves the appeal of a figure. However this does not match the charicter and thus hes now a soldier with a skirt.
i like skirts, this is the way i could make it to my liking best without changing the image "too" much its called an armor skirt or something, the romans made them in leather and plate steel, but i guess thisone has other materials
"Hmm, didn't your BE Elite have a dress?" Didn't you owe me a huge favor? I want yo to forget the Stories you've made up in your head about the NF. They are the enemies of the Brenodi empire and should dress acordingly.
Lol only parts I've made up is what I wrote. I always make it clear, when I'm talking story, if its canon or my fan fiction. The fan fiction is purely hobby, I don't bring that to the table when talking about the canon.
they are both good, but the second is better. the only problems are the color and all the head gear. the color works for camo, but if you are trying to show a 'generic' soldier he should be in the rusty red of NF. and the head gear is more desert storm than cold war, like their tanks.
Hey Vess-- you're putting up some good stuff, definitely a step up from some of your older designs that I saw from a few months back. The NF definitely need a makeover, so it's good that you're still cranking away at the concepts. I've got a couple of suggestions to help concepting: First, make your life easier and use reference whenever possible. It's always tempting to try and do an entire design from scratch (I know because I regularly have to stop myself from doing that), but the truth is that even the pros at id and Massive Black use reference when working. So for stuff like the kevlar vest, look at something like this, this or this. If you can, try and find reference that matches the pose you're doing too-- makes things go a lot faster. The other thing I want to point out is that you're committing to a concept too early in its development. Instead of showing a single well rendered shot at this stage, try presenting 3-6 rougher concepts that go in dramatically different directions and work from there. That way people can be a little more constructive by focusing on what general directions they like rather than nit-picking the helmet design, which at this point helps no one and is silly. Keep on truckin. Sometime in the next couple of days I'll try and get a post up myself of some designs to help illustrate my point. It's time I got back into the game.
these are some nice fantasy armors that could be a good influence basically they could help make the nf armors look older of design like they should be according to the story
I have to agree with Jessiah there. 4th and 5th do fit NF amazingly BUT i think the first one at the top would fit the gren very well or the riflemen :D
