I decided to make some newer vehicle icons, based upon some other ones i found in the vgui folder std MG std ML std CN yellow casing std CN red casing HUD icons - More to come later ofc this is what i did to start with
Did you base these off the legacy icons? They're lower quality than the current ones we have now. How many pixels per inch? And why a yellow cased cannon?
Lower PPI but in my personal opinion they look cleaner in game, i might make a legacy icon set based on the newer PPI icons And Yellow casings because that's how they look IRL
I think its colour coded for a reason... Its based on the weapon types. Cannons are red, MG is Yellow, ML is green. This actually helps new players learn which weapons can fit in which slots. I found it very helpful when first starting out. They associate colours to weapons classes. On a side note, the vehicle weapon drag and drop interface is very intuitive. So don't mix colours, it'll confuse people and make the game harder to learn. You can have different ends for the cannons, but don't actually change the shell casing colour. So plasma has a blue end for example...
Yeah, ill keep cannons red, was just trying some things and seeing how they looked. I also tried changing the hud icon, but that doesn't seem the work atm, ill keep working on them
I could change the hud icon, your changing this line in the vehicle_weapon script right? "HUD Icon" "vehicles/gui/weapons/mg" If it's not accepting it it might be because it needs a certain size, though I would think if the size was wrong you would just have a graphical glitch.
im using a different file with different name for example "biocn" or "smlbiocn". yes i have both VTF and VMT
