Clicking on a link in email, when there is a new reply puts you on a first post of the thread. Quite damn annoying, especially on phone. I have to search what I didnt read yet. Also logging me out very easy. As somebody mentioned, just clicking on empires logo logs you out.
Is there a way for mods to look at the User Agent of people online here: https://forums.empiresmod.com/index.php?online/ ? I enjoyed watching who was stupid enough to install Windows 10.
its been a couple days. i have a few complaints, as one does 1. i hate having to re-login every time i visit the forums. it encourages easy to remember passwords. i'd rather not have ssl. this must be the only forum in the world with it (for example, whenever i accidentally click home i have to log in again 2. can we get rid of the facebook/google/twitter trackers? i feel like this is a reasonable enough request (especially since we have ssl). right now i have 46 requests from facebook according to my disconnect addon 3. the themes do not give off the "empires" look that the previous one did, the dark theme even more so (im not a person who likes the abundance of features that come with "web 2.0" but i can give it a pass)
1. Logo logging you out is fixed in the dark theme. I'll see to fixing it in the light theme as well 2. I'll ask James to look into the tracker sprawl. We do want to keep the integration though. 3. It's actually intentional. We went for a new "fresh" look. I admit though that it will take people to get used to after ~10 years.
But mah empires theme... Also, I noticed that youtube links in people's sigs gives the little youtube window, that's kinda annoying when it's under every post.
Should I be concerned that firefox is warning me that this site "does not supply identity information" and that the connection is not secure despite the https in use.
I am using the dark theme and stay logged in, make sure to click that option on login screen. But maybe it works for me because I was stupid enough to upgrade to 10
Can I just say that I love the way this forum now looks like it was made by 13 year olds in the early 00s. It brings me back to my teen years. Unreadable text, everything dark, unreadable input boxes, too many plugins, fancy features that no-one needs. Krenzo will be proud.
Well, not everyone likes the same thing, and I'd be willing to make themes for everyone, but people wanted a Dark Theme and this was the fastest I could do. If you want lighter, there is this "fancy feature that no-one needs" where you can change to a Light Theme.
Dude I'm just copying you. Can you point me to one of your kinder posts so I can learn? I'm fine with a dark theme, but it took me a minute to realise that the login box wasn't broken, it was just the same colour as the text. Also the width was changed to be smaller than the light theme for some reason. If it's default then it needs to be good and not rushed as it is the first point of entry for new users. I don't see why my light banter was seen as so hostile. I'm sorry if the truth hurts.
Judging by the past many years that unkind tone is just about the best if not the only way to last here. I'm sure you can agree.
You can change to a bright theme. (It even says so at the top of the shoutbox) Not anymore as the past few months have shown. Now children, just play nice or we'll have to put you all in the naughty corner.
