I'm not a fan of the Rich Text Format editor the forum defaults to, and when switching to the BBCode one I don't see the text formatting options - I have to actually type in the tags, which is kind of inconvenient when I don't remember them. Also a big thing: hyperlinks are nearly undistinguishable from normal text! And the latest post thing actually brings you to the latest post in the forum, whereas previously it would bring you to the latest unread post in that given thread. That's a big step backwards IMO!
I am aware of that, but I'm at a point in life where I prefer to have the tags. The preview is better for seeing your post's formatting anyways since the dimensions of the reply box are different from the thread's.
You can still use tags. But they won't show up if you try and edit the post afterwards. Maybe we can add a "display formatting" option or something. But I wouldn't count on it.
the right-most button in the editor shows bbcode, theres no quick-edit buttons though thats what ddd was after also i swear yesterday i saw an option to default to the bbcode editor, cant find it today ...
All users can now edit their signature. (the problem was signature limits were set to zero for some usergroups)
It'd be great though. Also on mobile I can't go to even the latest post directly from the main index. There are no formatting options showing up either. Or I can't find them. But the former is definitely missing.
(old) links to forum posts dont work anymore (like for example in my sig). not surprised, just mentioning it. edit: also the empires-logo-text thing takes you to the empires homepage instead of the forums landing page, its kinda unintuitive (especially since it still logs you out)
I don't even see a link to edit my signature up there. I can see what it currently is somewhere, but I don't have a link to edit it.
Old links don't work anymore because thread links use the name now, and the post link format is different.
the dark style is too bad to be set to default. you cant read certain menus and black on blue in the editor hurts my eyes.
Well i know its raw and all , i only had a brief look as well, but it honestly looks kinda ass from my view, what with all those pop ups and whatnots. Not a fan of default white either. Also, forum achievements? Really?
When you hover over a thread name it shows a popup showing the op, but it blocks anything underneath, same thing applies to the subforums. Unrelated note: https://forums.empiresmod.com/index.php?threads/empiresmod-forum-admins-moderators.12930/ Is really not up to date.
Forums now have a Dark Theme, it was a bit rushed, so no hate please If anythings missing please let me know.
