First off, this suggestion comes from a grens point of view. Improved cannon is basically HE, it does 30-40 damage on infantry pretty much no matter how bad you miss. It sucks dodging MG fire to be blown to bits off 3 shots. So I suggest either give it normal splash or reduce its dmg to infantry. It already does enough damage to change the tide of a fight, plus the AFV has 4 armor plates
improved cannon is a temporary fix untill they fix the problem in another way, its gonna go anyway so i should not put to much effort in making it stick around
I feel no difference if I choose LT with canon and standard MG or AFV with Icanon and standard MG. With both you can keep infantry at barracks busy. LT is more difficult to hit. AFV is a bigger target but also has more ammo plates. Of course infantry has no change against the tanks. But only one tank also can't destoy the barracks if there is at least one engineer arround. And two infantry (engineer repairing barracks and building ML + gren/rifleman) will win against one tank. So in my opinion it's balanced. 1 infantry + barracks vs. 1 tank = stalemate 2 infantry + barracks vs. 1 tank = infantry win Only standard LT vs. standard AFV will result in 75% AFV win. But this is another topic. Weapon values from the wiki: canon: Damage 40, Explosion Radius 300 Icanon: Damage 50, Explosion Radius 350
Yeah with more armor and better cannon the AFV is way better when its skilled vs skilled.. But I guess it's alright in pub matchs
I played slaughtered yesterday, and with a reflective fission reactor AFV I succeeded to kill about 5-6 LT Mark 2 with UML while being attacked by grenadiers and riflemen at the same time, I suppose these drivers sucked but still, it's really good compared to the LT.
I really don't think the issue is that bad against anything but infantry. 10 damage really doesn't make a difference. I also don't have a problem with killing infantry with SstdCN. Just nerf the splash radius, simple, no?
The splash was supposed to work against LT's slamming into AFV's and pummelling them to death...but I haven't seen LT's do that for ages now, for some reason. Anyway, the weapon is on it's way out, so...
When you ram an AFV with your LT and fire into it, you do more damage to yourself due to the splash...for some reason..
Well, missile do have splash I think. And it doesn't matter how small, considering the tanks are touching.
10 damage amounts to 25 or 33% more firepower, plus the extra splash makes it good enough that you don't need an MG. AFV > LT now, but hey its more balanced then it was before.
actually if you can get close enough to an afv to where your cannons and missiles originate inside the afv model you don't take any damage from splash, so the old 'ram and shoot' still works if you are careful about it.
