How is my comment ignorant? They're not using the most recent SDK codebase because they're running on the Episode 1 engine which hasn't been updated in a few years.

I'm betting approximately the same as insurgency.

    Five internets on insurgency.

BECAUSE IT DOESN'T MATTER GODDAMNIT AND YOU IMPLIED IT MEANT THE GAME SUCKED EVEN THOUGH YOU NEVER SAID THAT I HEARD YOU THINKING IT!

Actually, until recently, you couldn't compile your own shaders for the OB engine.

also, it's terrible. It's really slow, and you die in like 3 shots.

Yeah the OB engine does have its problems, but I'd still recommend it because the compile tools are awesome, much easier to map for especially if you're working for a normal source game like this which uses interior areas.

I do wonder what the EP3 engine will be like and how easy it will be to port to it.

yeah. I liked playing the "Support" role. it's similar to being a heavy dual HE cannon tank in empires, while everyone else is restricted to the scout class. All ya gotta do is sit back and turn on your infared vision, which backfires with the thermal camoflague cause the player turns a very dark blue almost black with it on, so they still stand out ^_^

how that hell neotokyo is slow ? do you guys know how to play the rounds, you can win in 30 sec one round if you know how to play. slow ??? dont choose the support use the recon to sprint and double jump.

about the ob i agree but do you realy care if the mod looks good, fof is almost dead, eternal silence is dead, stargate something is dead, and they all look good with ob engines.

you hate leaning well dont use i dont. 3 kills and your dead? well dont choose the recon class. the guns look like css are you crazy? the models suck true they are not finish

and what mod have so much detail and custom stuff, that is not even done?

there is more maps, new modes, new weapons still to reveal

It's like they couldn't decide what kind of game they wanted

It feels like a deathmatch gamemode, but has the insta kill feel of Insurgency

Artistically NeoTokyo is just incredible, gameplay wise it's 80% CSS mixed with 20% Dystopia. But hey, it is fun.

    So they remade CSS, that's...

I can't actually think of anything positive to say, it's not original, difficult, or commercially sound.

But the art looks good so let's go with 'meticulous'.

I expected Cool tactical run up combat slide pull out your mp5 look in your EOtech kill 3 people do backflip action. Instead I got slowmoving guys generic weapons that throw away magazines each time they reload

What I saw of the gameplay from trailers seems to be right. The gameplay is seriously meh and I don't care about graphics at all. FAIL.

I'm tired of playing the same "POINT. SHOOT. ROUND-OVER" (or something similar) games.

    Hence, empires.

I actually found it rather fun, but then again, I've never played CSS or anything else this has been likened to.

It is rather laggy for me though.

Game has basical 3 guns, a shotgun a sniper and a assault rifle
that you can adjust with different spread and rof by choosing another model.

In dystopia every class feels completly different in Neotokyo it just the support
class not having stealth. Armor of the classes doesnt really matters cause all 3 die instantly if someone fires at it.

Oh and it is slow, i think in css the models move 1.5 x so fast than in neotokyo.
Slowness doesnt make a game tactical.

In dystopia I have to constantly switch through all weapons to be effective
and you need to think fast, its a challenge.
In Neotokyo its a snail simulator with stealth.

I think the problem is that the gameplay was fun when they first made the mod for the unreal2004
engine but now something like neotokyo is water under the bridge.

Can't say i was too impressed.

I went in without any expectations since I haven't followed the game what-so-ever, and came out feeling all "meh".
It's too linear for my taste and doesn't really have any focus.

It's not tactical, nor is it a run and gun type of game like CS:S with loads of different weapons, so it gets stuck somewhere inbetween.
I'm usually not a picky guy, I mean i can get stuck with a game simply because i like one of the guns but this game didn't even have that, they all felt kinda stiff.

    I just tried this.

    I got shot once, died.

    50 times rinse and repeat.

And the effort that went for this game goes to waste in 3...2..1...

Sad that they couldn't come up with something new, instead recycled generic CSS bullshit...... WIT CUL TACTICZ!

This feels like Fortress Forever all over, except FF was actually good.
